By C. Spartalis ------------------------------------------------------------ TNA HOUSESHOW Friday July 10, 2009 Copps Coliseum, Hamilton Ontario Just got back from Copps Coliseum here in Hamilton Ontario. Here is a brief report on tonight’s show. The show starts with the first match that had Eric Young vs. Suicide. Earl Hebner was the referee for this. Decent match to open the show that saw Young win via pinfall. Young gets upset with Hebner, which quickly draws the “You Screwed Bret” chants. Young wanted to wrestle Hebner, so they tied up, Young took him down and pinned him quickly. -The second match had Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde. Mark “Slick” Johnson was the referee for this match, as he & Hebner were the only two refs working tonight. Love gets the pinfall win over Toronto’s own Taylor Wilde. -The third match had Consequences Creed vs. Homicide. Creed stalled a lot to get heel heat. Homicide with the pinfall win. -The fourth match had Samoa Joe & (TNA World Heavyweight Champion) Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels & (TNA Legends Champion) A.J. Styles. Styles was definitely the favourite here. Angle got a nice mixed reaction. This was surprisingly short only going about 10 minutes. Everyone got their finishers in, as Styles got the pinfall win on Angle after a “Styles Clash.” -This was followed by a brief intermission. -The fifth match had Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Jay Lethal. These two had a decent match with time. Bashir stalled a lot early, but the pace picked up. They fought in and out of the ring, as Lethal even employed the use of a suicide dive. Lethal gets the pinfall win. -The sixth match was the main event for the TNA World Tag-Team Championship that had (Challengers) Team 3D vs. (Champions) Beer Money Inc. Earl Hebner was the referee for this championship match. Slow paced match that saw Beer Money doing the homophobic heel spots, as Team 3D got the constant one-upmanship. Crowd heat was decent here, as there were “table, table” chants. Team 3D even gets a table in the ring at one point. Long match that sees Sheik Abdul Bashir interfere, allowing Beer Money to retain their championship. After the match, Beer Money tossed Bashir into the ring, as Team 3D grabbed him and gave him a Dudley Death Drop through the table. After wards, Team 3D got the house mic and thanked the fans. They brought a kid into the ring and gave him a piece of the table, and autographed it for him as well. If you saw them headline WWE house shows back in or around 2003, you’ve probably seen a variation of this match and finish. -This was followed by Jeremy Borash coming out and inviting fans to come into the ring for photos with Team 3D. Angelina Love & Christopher Daniels were also out signing at ringside. This was a good show. It does seem that the matches have been slowed down from the pace of previous TNA shows I have seen, and a lot more comedy thrown in as well. I’m not sure if this is now a norm for their shows, or just for tonight. The crowd that was at the show was a pretty boisterous group. There was also a good mix of fans, as you saw long time fans, fans from the Monday Night Wars era, and some kids thrown in for good measure. Again, a solid show! By Chris Cooper

Styles and Christopher Daniels beat Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe when Styles pinned Angle after hitting the Styles Clash. Match 5: Jay Lethal pinned Sheik Abdul Bashir after the elbow drop Match 6: Beer Money beat Team 3D after Sheik Abdul Bashir interfered. After the match Bashir was put through a table.
