By Dr. Bryan Alvarez This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - We've got results of the UFC 60 PPV from last night elsewhere on the page, plus a complete audio recap show with myself, Tony, Vince and Michael Dunn, who was there live. In the only match that did not air on the PPV, Jeremy Horn beat Chael Sonnen via triangle submission in round two.
- Speaking of fighting, I'd like to apologize to Jason Pierce for screwing up his result in the Carl Lawler bout at X-Fighting last week. Pierce beat Lawler via ref stoppage in a one-sided fight, and not vice versa. - Don't forget the second IFL show airs this evening on FSN. Check your local listings for time and channel. - Shantelle Taylor of Shimmer has signed with WWE and will be heading to Deep South. - From Derek Burgan: Kayfabe is to be a feature length “mockumentary” which follows a fictional independent wrestling federation (the “TCICWF”) and examines the numerous challenges faced by the wrestlers as they try to put on the final two shows of the promotion before it folds. Just as This is Spinal Tap lampooned the world of heavy metal music and Best in Show skewered the sub-culture of competitive dog-breeding, Kayfabe pulls no punches while revealing the absurdities of independent professional wrestling. There will be two dates on which wrestling scenes will be filmed in front of a live audience. The first, Monday, June 12, will take place at 4 p.m. at the Russian Community Center at 2114 West 4th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia. Because in the film this wrestling show is taking place at a Catholic High School, extras are asked to wear “dress clothes” (collared shirts and ties) if possible. Also, extras are asked to not wear clothing with logos or pictures on it. The second date is Friday, June 16, at 5 pm, when filming will take place in the Alice Mackay Building on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds in Cloverdale, British Columbia. The Company will serve pizza to everybody in attendance, and there will be door prizes as well. Again, extras are asked to not wear clothing with logos or pictures on it. They are also encouraged to bring flash cameras to add to the atmosphere of the filming. Additional information about the Company, the producers and the film can be found at www.kayfabeentertainment.com - Arena Mexico results for May 26th courtesy Kris Zellner: Bam Bam & Shockercito & Ultimo Dragoncito beat Fire & Pequeno Violencia & Pierrothito; Amapola & Medusa & Raven Hiroka defeated Dark Angel & Marcela & Mima Shimoda; Blue Panther & Mr. Niebla & Ultimo Dragon beat Apolo Dantes & Misterioso II & Tarzan Boy; Felino & Heavy Metal & Negro Casas defeated Averno & Mephisto & Rey Bucanero – Rey worked as a tecnico here and annoyed his partners who beat his ass after the match before the Casas’ saved him; Dr. Wagner Jr. & Hijo del Lizmark & Mistico beat Atlantis & Black Warrior & Ultimo Guerrero by DQ when the rudos ripped off Mistico’s mask and when Wagner tried to make the save, his got ripped off too. - Arena Coliseo for May 28th: Bracito de Oro & Pequeno Olimpico vs. Fire & Sombrita; Chamaco Valaguez Jr. & Kronos & Sensei vs. Apocalipsis & Hooligan & Ramstein; Los Tigres del Ring (Rey Tigre & Tigre Blanco & Tigre Metalico) vs. Dr. X & Mazada & Nitro; Mascara Purpura & Maximo & Virus vs. Hombre sin Nombre & Loco Max & Shigeo Okumura; Lizmark & La Mascara & Pantera vs. Black Warrior & Emilio Charles Jr. & Hijo del Pierroth; Heavy Metal & Mistico & Negro Casas vs. Los Guerreros del Infierno (Rey Bucanero & Tarzan Boy & Ultimo Guerrero) - From Adam Lebow: Just thought I would let you know that TSN announced this morning that on June 7th at 9pm, The Sports Network would air the WWE ve. ECW Head to Head special. Additionally, due to NBA Playoffs, WWE Raw on June 5th will be on a Tape Delay, airing in its entirity at midnight (early June 6th). A replay of Raw will occur on the 6th in PRIMETIME at 8pm, with an additional replay later that evening at 3:30am (early June 7th). - Hogan Knows Best preview for today: Linda's love for animals gets the best of her when she learns about a baby monkey in need of a home. Her maternal instincts kick in as she brings the adorable but mischievous monkey into the Hogan home for a trial adoption without Hulk's permission. Once Hulk discovers the monkey, he tries to share his personal space with a primate. But the monkey may be a little too much for all the Hogans to handle. Goddamn monkeys. - At least the next two WWE PPV are scheduled to be $39.95. - See No Evil did $730,000 on Friday and $910,000 on Saturday. - Don't forget we'll be back on Wrestling Observer Live tonight with Bill Watts as our special guest.
