![]() CMLL vs. WWE tonight By This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - Today is the nine year anniversary of the death of Owen Hart. - We're looking for reports from all the major house shows this weekend, including WWE in Mexico at Palacio de los Deportes running head-to-head with a packed CMLL show tonight. The WWE event will be able to seat about 19,600, and the Arena Mexico show can seat about 17,100. - Full CMLL line-up courtesy Kris Zellner:
5/23 – Arena Mexico
- WWE in Queretaro results from yesterday courtesy Steve Sims. Show drew about 11,500. Super Crazy b Paul Burchill, Mickie James & Maris b Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea, Trevor Murdoch b Charlie Haas (for whatever reason, Haas had the most heat of anyone on the show besides JBL and Carlito), Mr. Kennedy b Snitsky with Foley as special referee, Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly b Brian Kendrick & Paul London in a non-title match, Jeff Hardy b Carlito, Shawn Michaels b Chris Jericho in the best match of the night, John Cena b JBL, and Triple H b Umaga in a non-title match. - Smackdown line-up for tonight:
* Vickie announces the Smackdown main event for One Night Stand
- For those that haven't seen the news, Mark Coleman vs. Brock Lesnar is off the August 9th Minneapolis show after Coleman suffered an injury in training. That sucks because that was a great fight for Brock. He'll face a new opponent as-yet-unnamed, though we'll probably have a name later this weekend. Georges St. Pierre has been added to the show and will defend the title against Jon Fitch. - For UFC Saturday night, this is the official PPV bout order not counting dark matches:
1. Thiago Silva vs. Antonio Mendes (bout 7 live, but first TV bout)
- It is believed that June 14th in Salt Lake City will be Rey Misterio's first wrestling match back. Right now he's just listed as making a special appearance. - There is an article here noting that the fall network TV schedules are very weak, and that CW had a big drop this season and is looking at an even bigger hit when Smackdown departs for MyNetworkTV this fall. - The ESPN Magazine with Kimbo Slice on the cover is showing up in mailboxes today, and will probably be on newsstands very soon. Right in time for the CBS EliteXC special, in fact. - Strikeforce on NBC did an 0.5 rating for last week's show, but they were pleased that the 18-34 demographic numbers beat both Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel. - Devin Cutting writes: TNA will be holding a house show at the Civic Center in Florence, South Carolina on July 26th, 2008. Go to http://www.prowrestlingevents.tk for info about upcoming shows. - Ian Hamilton writes: WWE is asking fans for their input on shaping future WrestleMania events. A survey sent to people who went on the WrestleMania 24 travel packages were asked about whether they wanted WWE to promote a musical performance before 'Mania, hold celebrity soccer/basketball/poker tournaments, whether there was any interest in a 5k Run... the SLAMMY AWARDS... WWE GLADIATOR events... and asking "when should WrestleMania week start?" - Charly Manson of AAA ended up fracturing a femur and won't be able to return to the ring until likely 2009. - Gabe Sapolsky on the ROH board said Lance Storm will be appearing at the July 25th and 26th ROH shows in Toronto and Detroit. No word yet on whether or not he'll be wrestling but I'm sure he'll post something on his site soon. - The WrestleMania DVD is selling very well. - Brandon Beemer signed on for a role in The Bold and the Beautiful and will apparently be playing a character named Owen Hart. - A look at WWE Magazine circulation - Kids today. This is right in my neck of the woods. - JR clearly hasn't been reading many Mr. Kennedy interviews of late - There is a Kane interview here where he talks about unmasking, winning the WWF Title from Steve Austin, who he'd love to feud with, making movies, the Wellness policy (hell of an evasive answer) and much more. - Alex Marvez looks at Terry Funk - No ifs, ands or buts -- Silva needs a victory at UFC 84 - Alex Marvez on Rock and Jason Taylor
