TNA releases Matt Morgan at his request

Announced on Twitter by the company, Matt Morgan was released earlier today by TNA. He had signed a lengthy contract, but had wanted out for some time, asking for his release in the past. With TNA cost cutting, the decision was made to give him what he wanted.

It's a double edged sword.  If someone wants out, generally you should let them go. However, TNA (Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff in particular) had thought he could be the man to carry the company.  While Morgan never showed it past being a well conditioned big guy, outright giving up on the project when a few weeks ago he was pushed as a title contender speaks volumes.
