UFC in New York - not happening again

The New York State assembly will not be voting on the bill that passed the state senate to legalize and regulate MMA, meaning the provision is dead for another year.

Speaker of the House Sheldon Silver today said that in a closed-door discussion, he determined that there were not enough votes for the measure to pass, but didn't rule out it passing in the future, saying that it's evolving and two years ago he didn't think there was a 50-50 split.  Silver determined there weren't enough votes, but also said the assembly was evenly divided on the subject.
