DAVID OTUNGA VS. BRODUS CLAY

The pre-show match was pretty bad and had little heat.  The story was Otunga working on Clay's supposedly injured left knee.  Clay came back, did a fall away slam, and Otunga rolled out of the ring.  He just stood outside the ring and the ref counted to ten.  This was even worse than a usual walk out finish, which sucks but has heat.  Really awful way to start the show in every way.

SHEAMUS VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER FOR THE WORLD TITLE

Sheamus won clean with the white noise, countering a sleeper, followed by the Brogue kick.  Crowd was into the last four minutes because they badly wanted Ziggler to win.  Crowd booed Sheamus in the final minutes but when he won, it was a face pop.  Crowd was chanting "Let's Go Ziggler," and Jerry Lawler immediately said the fans were chanting "Let's Go Sheamus."  It was the usual good 15:00 WWE title match type of bout, but a lot of timing issues and botched spots that you wouldn't expect from these two.

Vince McMahon is not even selling an injury.  He's fine.  So there's no story about whether or not he'll be at ringside for the main event.  John Laurinaitis came out wearing an orange suit.  John wanted to keep their business relationshipo close once Big Show beats Cena tonight.  McMahon then slammed his dressing room door in Johnny's face.

SANTINO MARELLA VS. RICARDO RODRIGUEZ IN A TUXEDO MATCH

We're not starting out very good here.  This was a worst match of the year candidate.  Marella won when we tore off Rodriguez's clothes and left him in what looked like a white diaper with Alberto Del Rio drawn on the butt.  Crowd was chanting "boring" from 2:00 in.  The story is Rodriguez got the cobra and threw it to the crowd.  But when he tore off Marella's pants, his right sock was painted up like the cobra.  Marella used a kick to the face, Rodriguez was knocked out, and Marella tore off what was left of Ricardo's clothes except his underwear.

Punk interview.  Punk said A.J. is crazy and he likes crazy chicks, but this is about the WWE title, going against a great technician and a monster.  A.J. showed up inthe interview to wish him good luck and she kissed him.  He told her luck is for losers and she was not very happy about the blow off, but then started smiling.

CHRISTIAN VS. CODY RHODES FOR IC TITLE

Christian won clean with the spear after Rhodes missed a disaster kick.  This crowd was not behind Rhodes at all.  They were into the near falls at the end but didn't seem that much behind Christian either but certainly a well worked match.  Rhodes earlier kicked out of the killswitch and the first time Christian went for the frog splash, Rhodes got his knees up.

PRIMO & EPICO VS. TYSON KIDD & JUSTIN GABRIEL VS. TITUS O'NEAL & DARREN YOUNG (THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS) VS. USOS  - WINNERS BECOME TOP CONTENDERS FOR THE TAG TITLES

A.W. was with Primo & Epico in an angle they haven't followed up on in weeks.  Good match, people didn't care but there as a lot of talent out there.  AW turned on Primo & Epico and went with Young & O'Neil.  The Usos did a double dive onto almost everyone.  Then Kidd gave Primo a Frankensteiner off the top outside the ring.  AW threw Primo into the ring.  Young gave Primo a gutbuster and went for the pin.  Epico went to save but AW stopped him from saving.  After the match Primo decked AW, but O'Neil & Young attacked Primo & Epico from behind and laid them out.  At least this had a purpose even if the crowd didn't care much for it because they are all guys getting almost no push.

HHH segment looks to be next.

HHH said he's spent half of his life in the ring because it's the only thing he's ever wanted to do, and also because he never wanted to get a real job.  Ironically, here I am with a real job.  For the last five weeks, I've had to deal with legal mumbo jumbo, depositions, lawyers, but I'm a fighter, an asskicker, not a corporate kind of guy.  Brock says he's an ass kicker.  The arm is feeling better, a few more weeks 100%, a few more weeks I'll be in fighting shape.  He said to get rid of lawyers, lawsuits, legal junk, get rid of the fat balding manager, just me and you and doing what we do.  We're fighters and I want to fight you.  Crowd reacted to this.  He challenged him for SummerSlam.  Light "Yes, yes" chant.  Or you can be happy to be a quitter.  He got the message across but it wasn't much of a promo.

A.J. came up to Daniel Bryan.  He blew her off.  She said that she hasn't gotten over him and he said he doesn't care.  She kissed him and left.  He smiled.

LAYLA VS. BETH PHOENIX FOR THE DIVAS TITLE

Layla won clean with the neckbreaker.  Crowd was dead for the match except for a press overhead by Phoenix.  Nothing bad about the match, but it didn't build and finish came out of nowhere.

A.J. wanted to with Kane good luck and kissed him.  Kane then gave her a big-time kiss.

HUNICO VS. SIN CARA

Sin Cara worked American style, which renders him somewhat unimpressive.  Hunico dominated and Sin Cara came back with La Mistica into the face plant for the finish.  Crowd wasn't into it and it wasn't much of a match.

C.M. PUNK VS. DANIEL BRYAN VS. KANE FOR THE WWE TITLE

Good match.  The finish saw A.J. show up, then Punk threw Kane into A.J., knocking her off the apron.  This distracted Kane and Punk gave him the high kick and the GTS and Punk pinned Kane.  Bryan was taken out a few minutes early when Punk gave him the GTS, but Kane pulled Bryan to the floor so Bryan couldn't be pinned.  Kane carried A.J. to the back and A.J. made it clear she wasn't hurt as she smiled at Punk like she gave him the win.   The crowd was super into Bryan, and even more into Punk.  Crowd was hot for everything when it was Punk vs. Bryan.  When Kane was in they were into sometimes but not at other times.  By far the hottest the crowd was to anything on the show.

RYBACK VS. ROB GRYMES & DAN DELANY

Exactly what you'd expect.  when Ryback pinned both with a double Samoan drop, he screamed "Feed me three."  He later screamed "Feed me four."

JOHN CENA VS. BIG SHOW IN A CAGE MATCH

Cena won with the finish where Cena cllimbed over the top while at the same time Show was crawling out the door and Cena's feet his first.  Show had the match won when he knocked Cena out, but both referees were knocked out, as were Vince, who Laurinaitis opened the cage door on, but Laurinaitis was down.  Show had also KO'd Charles Robinson when Cena moved.  Brodus Clay came out with a chair and threatened to hit Show, so he couldn't leave the ring.  All of Show's victims except R-Truth came out, and Show destroyed Marella, Alex Riley and Zack Ryder (big pop) with punches as Show punched the cage as they Ryder climbed.  However, Kofi Kingston came out and climbed to the top and kicked Show, trying to climb over.  Show took a bump into the ring.  Cena recovered and gave Show the Attitude Adjustment.  Cena went to climb and Show crawled to the door and that was the finish.  The match was fine for what it was, but certainly nothing special at all.

Cena got Lauriinaitis up for the Attiitude Adjustment.  Vince fired him, at least until tomorrow.  Cena then gave him an Attitude Adjustment through the Spanish announcers table.
