Thumbs down.

I really enjoyed the first hour of this show, up until the tag team title match the show was thumbs up but then it went downhill.

The matches from them are typical WWE matches with confusing finishes and standard 3 way booking but the main event was frustrating to watch. All show it was built up as a fight and they come out and work a Triple H style match and it screamed of Hunter's self-serving ego thinking he can carry anyone to have his style of match. Majority of the match he was selling little to none of Brock's offence  and his outrageous call of  "this isn't UFC" was laughable.

People will say that "he did the right thing" by putting Brock over but in this era were we're conditioned to think that wins and losses don't matter (and the fact that they beat him in April) it doesn't matter because Brock looked just like another guy out there and in the end, it was still always about Triple H.

And this guy is going to be in charge one day and Bryan thought this was good... Oh boy.

Hi Dave,
Just wanted to give a few thought's on SummerSlam. For being one of the original "Big 4" Pay Per Views, I would have to give the show a big thumbs down for just being very uneventful. It was like watching an episode of Raw with a different title. I guess the best match would be the main event with Lesnar / HHH since this was really a one match PPV in my opinion and the worst match would probably be the tag titles match but nothing really stood out tonight as being anything special. It would seem to me that WWE only really produces 2 really good PPV's a year now with The Rumble and Mania. At least those are the only 2 that I really order any more, but I thought I would give SummerSlam a chance since it can be a good show. And now I'm sure with Raw being 3 hrs we are going to get a 3 hr review show of tonight's SummerSlam anyway. That's another problem with Raw being 3 hrs now, they waste so much time "Reviewing" every match just after it happens to kill time, that it kills the show. That's what happened during last week's Raw with Hyping the main event of SummerSlam with the big angle at the end, that the show got lost trying to promote what was really a 1 match PPV with a bunch of matches that you usually see on Raw or Smackdown. WWE really just need's to focus on putting on a good show, instead of just hyping most of the 3 hrs in "Review" mode all night or Hyping "Tout", but I digress. I think from this point forward unless WWE changes direction, I'm going to save my money and just stick to the "Big 2" with the Rumble and Mania. Everything else in between is just really a hyped up version of Raw or Smackdown on most PPV's and Raw being 3 hours now, the product just seems lost in direction.
Thanks Dave,

Hey Dave,

Thumbs in the middle.

Best match was Jericho vs. Ziggler, HHH vs Lesnar

Worst match: Miz vs. Rey

It was the weakest Summerslam in years. Maybe it was the crowd which seemed dead but it just didn't have the feel of a big 3 PPV. it wasn't bad & served its purpose of taking your mind off things for a few hours & have some fun.

Have a Good day,

Don Boike

Thumbs up

Best match: Triple H vs. Lesnar
Worst Match: Kofi/Truth vs. Prime Time Players

Not quite getting the general disappointment with the show. People calling this the "worst PPV in recent memory" are sort of nuts. I think all of the matches were extremely entertaining and energetic. First three were a great series of good PPV early card and mid-card matches. The PPV could have used a title change on the card (pre-view doesn't count for me). The World and WWE title matches could have had better finishes, sure. But both were well worked matches and fun.

The final match wasn't as good as the Cena match, but it was still unique and unpredictable and felt dangerous. That's what I like about these Lesnar main events. You literally feel a sense of surprise: something sorely lacking even in the most high-energy matches these days. The crowd seemed more stunned than uninterested, in my book. I liked the match a lot.

Thumbs in the middle

Best match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho
Worst match: Antonio Cesaro vs. Santino Marella

Nothing offensive, but nothing really newsworthy unless they decide Triple H is indeed done. Would've meant a lot more if Lesnar had beaten Cena in April. An average show.

And it sure does suck to be a female wrestler in WWE right now.
