Welcome to our live coverage of TNA's No Surrender. We're looking for your thoughts on the show so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to
Rumor has it The Armbreaker will be Mike Hettinga (Mike Knox) and not Drew Hankinson.
JEFF HARDY VS. SAMOA JOE IN THE FIRST BOUND FOR GLORY SEMIFINAL
Hardy won via pinfall after a series of reversals. The match wasn't as good as their TV match on Thursday but certainly decent enough. A series of reverses, as Joe went for the muscle buster, Hardy turned it into a sunset flip and then went for the Anaconda vise, Joe reversed but then Hardy reversed one more time into a crucifix pin.
Storm said he picked Bully Ray because Ray beat him last year and eliminated him and this year he's going to right the wrong.
JAMES STORM VS. BULLY RAY IN THE OTHER BOUND FOR GLORY SEMIFINAL
Bully Ray won via pin due to interference from Bobby Roode. Earl Hebner was knocked down. Then ref Brian Stiffler was knocked down by Storm's flying forearm. Storm came back and hit the codebreaker and superkick, but Ray fell into Hebner, knocking him down a second time. With both refs down, Roode came in and hit Storm over the head with a beer bottle and put Ray on top. Ray got the pin as counted by Hebner even with broken glass all over the ring.
Miss Tessmacher interview. Said Tara was her best friend, taught her everything and she wouldn't have this title if it wasn't for her. Owes everything to her. This sounds like somebody is turning. Tessmacher said she lost fair and square at Open Fight Night, she still wants to prove student can beat the teacher.
MISS TESSMACKER VS. TARA FOR THE KNOCKOUTS TITLE
Tessmacher won with a Toyota roll off a Widow's peak. The first half was all technical. From a technical standpoint it was very good but the crowd was quiet. Tara went subtle heel, the crowd didn't really pick up on it. It was good for what it was but the lack of crowd reaction hurt it somewhat.
Hulk Hogan told the polcie to arrest Roode and take him to jail and have him rot in jail. Storm then jumped Roode. The police handcuffed and took Storm out as well.
AUSTIN ARIES VS. THE ARMBREAKER
Pretty sure it was Mike Knox. No ref brawl which included Aries throwing powder and finally Aries hit the guy with a roll of coins and hit the brainbster. The crowd popped big for the brainbuster but as far as the heat went, it sure didn't feel like a hot angle. After the brainbuster, all the Aces and 8s guys attacked Aries. Then all the guys on the card came out. In the brawl, one of the Aces and 8s guys (I think this was Hankinson) threw Hardy's shoulder into the post so they are selling it like Hardy's is hurt badly, but I think he's coming out for the main event. Kurt Angle was not moving well. Daniels & Kazarian didn't come out. Hogan came out with a bat and told security to lock every door of the building.
ZEMA ION VS. SONJAY DUTT FOR THE X TITLE
Ion retained the title in a good match. Finish started like a Gori especial but dropping Dutt on his face and chest for the pin. Lots of near falls late. Technically this was the best thing by far on the show, but crowd wasn't into it without any TV storyline or build. Some really cool huracanrana variations during the match.
Hogan told police nobody is allowed in and nobody is alowed out. Hogan sad he wanted more police. He told the police to lock it down. Like the Orlando police tonight have nothing better to do than keep the Aces and 8s out of the Impact Zone. They showed Jeff Hardy being worked on by the trainer. Magnus came out and said Jeff showed a lack of common sense for going out during that run-in. Wait a minute, Magnus ran in for the same run-in.
ROB VAN DAM VS. MAGNUS
Van Dam won clean with a dropkick and frog splash. Again crowd wasn't much into this but the work was solid.
Daniels & Kazarian interview. Kazarian was making up words. Said the police should be looking into their problems, saying it was a crime Kazarian wasn't in the Bound for Glory series, said that Grace Stein and Claire Lynch slandered their name. They both called themselves the World tag team champions of the world which is a spoof on how Christy Hemme screwed up one time announcing them. Now it's the tag line that they call themselves and Hemme introduces them as it every time. These two do a main event tag team interview.
CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & KAZARIAN VS. A.J. STYLES & KURT ANGLE FOR THE TAG TEAM TITLES
Daniels & Kazarian are a hell of a team. They retained as Styles went for the Styles clash on Kazarian but Daniels threw his drink into Styles face and Kazarian got the pin with a schoolboy. So many awesoem spots, highlights being Kazarian kicking out of the springboard 450, Styles kicking out of the Spanish fly (wave of the future). Angle did a lot more than you'd think and he looked good. They worked the injury for the finish as Angle took a bump out of the ring, held his leg like he was hurt which is why the ref was outside the ring and missed the drink to the face. Not as good as the first PPV match these teams had because less heat for the first part of the match, but really good.
Hogan told the police that this is the most important match of the night so he expects Aces and 8s to come out. Told the police if anyone comes to the ring to whack him and cuff him. He brought them into the building instead of guarding the door.
Bully Ray did an interview and said he feels bad a little for what happened to Hardy but he was going to beat him either way.
JEFF HARDY VS. BULLY RAY IN THE BOUND FOR GLORY FINALS
They teased the idea that Hardy wasn't going to wrestle because he's hurt. Hulk Hogan came out and asked Ray to delay the match until Thursday. Ray didn't accept or turn down the stip when Hardy finally came out.
Hardy won with a swanton. On paper when they laid this scenario out it probably sounded great, but the crowd so completely didn't buy the angle. Ray worked over Jeff's shoulder which got no heat at all. Hardy did a twist of fate and swanton but Ray kicked out. Ray came back with a diamond cutter but Hardy kicked out. The finish saw Hardy hit two twists of fate and he climbed slow. Ray climbed to the top but Hardy knocked him off and Hardy hit the swanton for the pin. The crowd did pop for the pinfall but were dead for this match. I don't think it was that people didn't care, but that they overbooked it and the crowd just seemed numb and they didn't buy Hardy's selling the injury.
