Subject: C.M. Punk at the Portage Theatre News tidbit for Dave - 7:15PM Thurs.

Dave,
The local WGN station was reporting on the news that people were lining up as early as Wednesday night at the Portage Theatre.

They did a piece on this and here is a link.

To preface, this is a theatre located on the northwest side of Chicago in a neighborhood known as Portage Park. It is about a mile and a half from the location where Punk and Cabana, as well as others, like Jay Bradley, Amy Dumas (Lita) and the two brothers who own the Resistance Pro organization, Gabe and Jacques Baron, were trained in a store front training school called the Steel Domain.

The other trainer was Ace Steel's regular tag team partner, Danny Dominion, who's most prominent level of achievement was wrestling on some of the pre-TNA WWA shows in Australia and getting squashed on RAW in 1997 by Crush.

Needless to say, you are familiar with Steel's accomplishments in both ROH, TNA, and IWA Mid-South among other groups, including his most famous role in portraying Donald Trump on RAW a few years ago.

They were able to squeeze quite a bit more than the planned 1,000 fans but so far this has been an amazing phenomenon for the independent scene in Chicago, because aside from Sonny Rogers ( who trained both Dominion and Steel ) no one from this scene has ever made it to this level of fame.
