Bellator's debut date on Spike looks like (updated)

January 10th.

Bellator has reversed a date at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City for the 2013 season debut, which is a Thursday, according to MMAJunkie.com.  It had long been expected that Bellator would run Thursdays at 10 p.m. when Spike moved Impact up an hour, because it woudl provide Bellator with the best possible lead-in.

That may be the best bet for the spring, but for the same reason TNA has struggled in ratings the last few months, it is not the best bet in the fall.  Based on Ultimate Fighter and Impact both on Thursday's against NFL in the past, the NFL hurt TUF, which draws  more of a sports audience, than Impact, which is more soap opera in nature.  There's no denying it hurts both.

Spike officials have said no decision has been made regarding the show and said they were looking at continuing on Friday, or perhaps moving to Wednesday.  Both Spike and FX are seemingly playing a game wanting the other to make the announcement first and then making their own decision with that in mind.
