AP reports wrestling dropped from the Olympics

The Associated Press reported tonight that the decision made by the IOC today is that the sport of wrestling will be dropped from the Olympics after the 2016 games.

An official told the AP that it came down to modern pentathlon and wrestling since the decision was being mad to drop one sport in 2020.  The other three sports under consideration to be dropped were Taekwondo, badminton and table tennis.

The news was a major surprise, because even though wrestling was under consideration, due to the fact it is competed worldwide, has been a staple of the Olympics since 1896 and that women's wrestling was just added in 2004, nobody really took it seriously that it was really going to be dropped.
