Update on Daffney lawsuit settlement
Sunday, 10 March 2013 10:02
The Shannon Spruill lawsuit against TNA was settled out of court in mediation just before the judge was going to make a ruling on the independent contractor vs. employee aspect of the case.
The case was going to start depositions shortly had it continued. A ruling by a judge on the independent contractor vs. employee aspect for TNA going the wrong would have been costly for the company, and set a precedent for WWE and any other wrestling company that uses exclusive contracts regarding tax benefits that companies have.
Spruill had been told by Terry Taylor at one point that TNA would cover her medical bills, but then the company didn't do so, which led to her filing suit and being released.
