UFC 161 main event officially off (updated)

Dana White confirmed today that Renan Barao suffered torn ligaments in his foot and would be unable to fight on the 6/15 show in Winnipeg.

Barao defending the interim bantamweight title against Eddie Wineland was the scheduled main event, although it was by no means the real marquee fight on the show.

The previous No. 2 fight, Dan Henderson vs. Rashad Evans, was confirmed today by Dana White to be moved to the main event position, in a three-round fight.

No word on Barao would be able to fight, the match would be delayed, or if Wineland would get a new opponent.
