Davey Richards pinned Eddie Edwards after a series of kicks to win the ROH title this evening from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. The match had a ton of near falls and near submissions
When it was over, both men collapsed after the 36 minute super hard hitting match filled with submissions. The fans were chanting "Thank you both" when it was over.
Richards did quite an interview when it was over, praising Edwards, nearly in tears about death of family members and how he's lost so much in life but ROH gave him something to live for. Edwards told him to take his moment and stand up like the champ he is. He talked to his grandfather and grandmother and said, "I did it." The post match was really phenomenal.
Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas retained the tag titles in a four-way elimination over The Kings of Wrestling after The All Night Express and Briscoes were both eliminated. The Briscoes laid out Haas & Benjamin after.
El Generico won the TV title from Christopher Daniels with a brainbuster on the turnbuckles.
Michael Elgin pinned Steve Corino. Kevin Steen returned before the match but was ordered away by ROH officials. Elgin and company were beating down Corino after, and also beat down Jimmy Jacobs when Steen made the save, but Steen turned on Corino and gave him a package piledriver. Jim Cornette swore on his mother's grave that Steen would never wrestle again in ROH.
