Randy Savage dead

  1. Randy Poffo, better known as Randy Savage, one of the top pro wrestling stars from the late 70s and a headliner throughout the 80s and 90s as probably the No. 2 star in WWF behind Hulk Hogan of the late 80s, passed away earlier today in an auto accident.

Lanny Poffo, his brother, told TMZ.com that Randy suffered a heart attack behind the wheel at about 10 a.m. this morning and lost control of his 2009 Jeep Wrangler, which went across a concrete median, was not hit by oncoming taffic, but collided with a tree.

Savage passed away from his injuries.  His wife, Lynn, was in the car with him but is reported to have suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
