Little Tokyo passes away

Shigeri Akabane, who was the best in-ring worker of the U.S. "midget" wrestling troupe in the 70s and 80s as Little Tokyo, passed away earlier today of a massive heart attack at the age of 70.

He had been battling leukemia.  Akabane appeared at WrestleMania III, and during his prime was a heel who was the perennial "World midget champion" from 1974 until the end of the territorial era.
