WWE house show report 6-30 Sioux Falls

By James Girouard

Results from the WWE Sioux Falls house show:

Tons of Funk b. Prime Time Players.  Mostly comedy.  Brodus and Tensai hit the double splash on Young for the win.

Vicki Guerrero came out to biggest heel pop of the show to make Naomi vs. Brie Bella.

Naomi b. Brie Bella.  Wasn't nearly as good as Naomi's match with Natalya in Sioux Falls last year, but Naomi did hit a very impressive split-legged moonsault for the pin.

Bray Wyatt b. Alex Riley.  Wyatt came out with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan and cut a short promo.  Crowd reacted to Wyatt like he was somebody even though he hasn't wrestled on TV, which shows that the vignettes make a difference.

Yoshi Tatsu b. Drew McIntyre.  Didn't see much of the match and neither guy got a lot of heat.

Curtis Axel b. Miz by countout to retain IC title.  Miz gave Axel the skull-crushing finale after the match.  Probably the best match of the night.

Dean Ambrose b. Zack Ryder in 2-out-of-3-falls match to retain US title in a "fan's choice" match.  The other choice was no-disqualification, so I have no earthly idea how this won.  Neither did Ambrose and Ryder, apparently, as it looked for all the world like they called this match on the fly and looked confused.  Worst match on the show by far.

-Ryder won first fall by disqualification when Ambrose took off the turnbuckle pad and rammed Ryder into it.
-Ambrose won second fall a minute later when two headlock drivers.  The first one appeared to be the finish, but the referee didn't count to three for some reason.  So Ryder and Ambrose repeated the sequence and Ambrose pinned him.
-Ambrose then won the third fall with another headlock driver.

Roman Regins and Seth Rollins came down to attack Zack Ryder after the match, which brought out Christian and Daniel Bryan to a big babyface reaction.

Christian/Daniel Bryan b. Roman Reigns/Seth Rollins by disqualification when Reigns broke up a pinfall attempt with a chairshot.  Match was nowhere near as good as a Shield match on TV.  After the match, Christian and Daniel Bryan hugged it out.

Sheamus b. Ryback in a tables match when Sheamus brogue kicked Ryback through a table.  Match was exactly what you'd expect.  Sheamus celebrated with the fans after the match.

Biggest babyface pops:
1. Sheamus
2. Daniel Bryan
3. Miz

Biggest heel reactions:
1. Vickie Guerrero
2. Reigns/Rollins
3. Ryback
