WWE NXT TV Report: Charlotte debuts, Wyatt Family vs. Graves & Neville

Emerson Witner

Here's what you need to know about NXT:

1) The brackets for the Woman's Title Tournament are as follows:

  • Paige defeated Tamina on 6/6
  • Alicia Fox defeated Bayley on 6/13
  • Summer Rae defeated Sasha Banks on 6/20
  • Emma defeated Aksana on 6/27
  • Paige defeated Alicia Fox on 7/4
  • Emma defeated Summer Rae on 7/11
2) The NXT Champion is Bo Dallas. He defeated Big E. Langston on June 13 and teased a heel turn back on May 16, but it hasn't been mentioned since.

3) They also have tag champs The Wyatt Family (Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, managed by Bray Wyatt). They captured the titles on May 9, defeating Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville.

4) The Family's top contenders are the mishmash team of Kassius Ohno and Corey Graves, who are now 1-1 as a team after winning a #1 contender's match over a team that was 2-0.

5) Dusty Rhodes is the authority figure, but his job title seems to change from week to week.

6) Sami Zayn, the former El Generico, is in the midst of a feud with Antonio Cesaro, which I am sure you are surprised to hear has led to good matches.

7) The announce team is constantly rotating with some combination of Tony Dawson, William Regal, Brad Maddox and Tom Phillips.

And that's everything you need to know about NXT. (Now we know!...and knowing is half the battle...G.I. Joe!)

In a #1 Contender's triple threat match, Leo Kruger defeated Sami Zayn and Antonio Cesaro

Tony Dawson claims that Leo Kruger will not sleep until he becomes NXT Champion. That is a lot of nights without sleep. Even if he wins this match, he probably won't get his title shot for at least two weeks. Le Canadien Francais Generique (The Generic French Canadian) with his first shot to become a top contender to a championship in WWE. Zayn has had great matches with both men individually in the past six weeks, so it came as no surprise that this was a great match.

The crowd has taught me that Kruger needs a wicked easy phrase for the peeples to chant. El Zaynerico has the fans chanting Ole! Cesaro has the sheeple chanting “We the people” and Leo has...nothing. Leo hooked Sami for a T-Bone Suplex and Cesaro hit a German Suplex to Kruger which sent Zayn flying to the other side of the ring. Cesaro flung Zayn high into the air. How high? The bottom of Zayn's foot was above Cesaro's head, but Sami came down with a Hurricarana. The finish saw Cesaro hit Zayn with a Neutralizer, but Kruger stole the pin.

Maybe Kruger can compromise and sleep tonight.

Corey Graves said he has problems with Adrian Neville, but demands that they work together for the common goal: the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Bo Dallas

NXT Champion Bo Dallas beat Scott Dawson (w/Sylvester Lafort)

Bo doesn't seem concerned about his newest number one contender...he is too busy being giddy. The problem with having more than one person with the last name Dawson came about when Regal talked about how “Tony Dawson” has the chance of a lifetime here. Tony admitted that if he got in the ring, it would be the shortest match in NXT history. Someone please get him in the ring. Bo won with that wacky hip toss slam thing he does.

After the match, Kruger sprung onto Dallas, leaving the champion lying with the spinning neck breaker, much to the fans delight.

Another promo for The Ascension. Why are the best duo's and trio's in WWE or NXT all heels?

Charlotte (w/Charlotte's (the city) own and Charlotte's (the person) Dad, Ric Flair) defeated Bayley

Bayley marked out for Ric, who easily got the biggest ovation of anyone ever on this show. Ric took the mic before the match and introduced his daughter. This match was actually pretty decent for someone who has had less than three matches in her career and it's just like Bayley simply carried her, Charlotte was good and should be pretty decent when all is said and done. Charlotte pinned Bayley with a flipping neck breaker.

Dawson ran to the back and interviewed Sheamus about wrestling next week. Sheamus didn't know who he was wrestling, so he was attacked by The Wyatt Family. Bray told a stage hand to tell Sheamus to follow the buzzards.

Tyler Breeze is in another part of the back, checking his makeup and announcing that next week's NXT will experience 'gorgeous'.

In addition to Sheamus and our effeminate Breeze, Paige will wrestle Emma next week in the finals of the NXT Woman's Championship tournament.

Corey Graves and Adrian Neville captured the NXT Tag Team Championships by defeating The Wyatt Family

I am not sure if this gives Neville two or three title reigns. He won the titles with Oliver Grey, Grey was injured and they announced Dallas as a replacement champion, but does that get considered a separate title reign? Dawson was chastised again for cutting off Mr. Regal, which forced him to ask if Tony was related to William's wife. Graves and Ohno were the original number one contenders, but Ohno was injured by The Family, who also injured Neville's original partner Oliver Grey.

Harper and Rowen got the heat on Graves, which led to one cool spot where Graves thought he got away and went running towards Neville, but got intercepted by Harper who downed Graves with the Black Hole Slam. The fans went absolutely nut when Graves finally made the hot tag. Adrian with a picture perfect Asai Moonsault to the outside of the ring on both foes. Back in the ring a Pier 6-er broke out. Bray got involved, but Neville kicked out. Suddenly Sheamus ran to the ring and knocked out Bray, which let Neville hit his twisting moonsault for the win!

The fans went crazy, Regal went crazy, Sheamus stole the title belts....and then ran by Corey who had his hand stretched out...and then rolled into the ring to give them their championships.

That is it from Orlando. The kings are dead, long live the new kings of the NXT tag team division!
