Welcome to our live coverage of the Survivor Series from the TD Garden in Boston. We're looking for your thoughts on tonight's show so email a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to
Most of the usual outlets, except for one, were not taking odds for tonight's show. I think they've gotten burned by smart money from people who knew finishes so they've shut it down.KOFI KINGSTON VS. THE MIZ
Miz really wasn't a strong heel here. Good action match with a lot of near falls. Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale but Kingston reversed into a front rolling cradle, which Miz reversed into a cradle of his own for the pin. After the match, Miz wanted to shake hands but Kingston slapped him in the face and left. USOS & CODY RHODES & GOLDUST & REY MYSTERIO VS. JACK SWAGGER & ANTONIO CESARO & THE SHIELD IN AN ELIMINATION MATCH
This was the Roman Reigns show, beginning the push to make him a lead babyface. It came down to Reigns against both Goldust and Mysterio. He speared Goldust and pinned him. As Mysterio was going for a 619, Reigns got up, speared him and pinned him too. Very good match, no better than expected, but there's a good chance this ends up as the best thing on the show:
- Cody pinned Ambrose quickly with a schoolboy when Ambrose was yelling at the ref
- Jimmy Uso pinned Swagger with a splash off the top
- Cody pinned Cesaro with a sunset flip
- Reigns pinned Jimmy Uso with a spear
- Reigns pinned Cody with a spear
- Rollins pinned Jey with the curb stomp
- Mysterio pinned Rollins with a sunset flip
- Reigns pinned Goldust with a spear
- Reigns pinned Mysterio with a spear
Backstage, HHH & Stephanie and Kane met with a mad Orton. HHH asked if he was demanding no interference or wants help to bail him out. HHH said he's the face of WWE and Stephanie told him to go prove it. BIG E LANGSTON VS. CURTIS AXEL FOR IC TITLE
Langston won clean in a quick match with the big ending. Nobody believed Axel could win and it had very little crowd reaction. Langston played to the fans in Boston and talked about the Red Sox winning the championship -- a flat delivery of the promo. It got a weak reaction.
A.J.'s team was backstage. A.J. and Kaitlyn were arguing, said Total Divas don't want any of you. Mybe they think you're not pretty enough or have a bad accent or all you can do is dance. A.J. said they think you don't deserve to be in Total Divas. A.J. told them to start the show by stealing the show. A.J. LEE & TAMINA SNUKA & ROSA MENDES & KAITLYN & ALICIA FOX & SUMMER RAE & AKSANA VS. EVA MARIE & JO JO & BELLA TWINS & NATALYA & NAOMI & CAMERON IN AN ELIMINATION MATCH
Natalya won over A.J. when they were the last two with the sharpshooter so Natalya and Nikki were the survivors. This was rushing through stuff like you woudln't believe, most women had no chance to show a thing.
- Naomi pinned Fox
- Rosa Mendes pinned Cameron
- Nikki pinned Mendes
- Nikki pinned Summer Rae
- Kaitlyn pinned Eva Marie who was given no time in
- Brie pinned Kaitlyn with a missile dropkick.
- Aksana pinned Brie with a spinebuster
- Nikki pinned Aksana with shock treatment.
- AJ pinned Jo Jo after Snuka gave her a Samoan drop
- Natalya used the sharpshooter on Snuka
- Natalya then used the sharpshooter on AJ. Snuka wanted to save but Nikki stopped her. Nikki got the glory spot here for obvious reasons.
Orton was kissing up to Charles Robinson, said, "We've always had each other's back
." Orton told Charles to call it right down the middle. "You get what I'm trying to say
," he said. Robinson said he's going to do what The Authority says.
Ryback was yelling at Bret Hart, Booker T and Mick Foley, and issued an open challenge. RYBACK VS. MARK HENRY
Henry went for a clothesline and Henry did a sort-of crossbody, followed by the World's Strongest Slam. Short match, and crowd not much into this at all. Henry looks less intimidating with the bald head. The match wasn't terrible, but the last few matches tonight have all been really weak. JOHN CENA VS. ALBERTO DEL RIO FOR THE WORLD TITLE
Long match but it didn't have as much heat as most Cena matches. Cena was kind of sloppy in the match on offense. He sold the arm most of the way. Similar to the first match, it was almost the same finish as Del Rio had the armbar on the left arm. But Cena picked him up and power bombed him, then used the Attitude Adjustment for the pin. Not nearly the level of most WWE World title matches but not bad either.
R-Truth said he was going to win Money In the Bank...A Money In The Bank game that is. R-Truth said he was playing Marella as Cena. Los Matadores, Torito and John Laurinaitis all wanted to play and cheered it on.
The Reddit guy posted all the winners before the show started. He's had them all right. Then again, oddsmakers have had everything correct as well. Both odds and the Reddit guy have Bryan & Punk and Orton as the last two winners.
C.M. PUNK & DANIEL BRYAN VS. LUKE HARPER & ERICK ROWAN
Good match here. The finish saw Bryan take out Rowan with the Busaiku knee and Punk pin Harper after the GTS. Harper may have hyperextended his knee as he took a tope from Bryan, causing him to limp badly and be tagged out. He came back in later and didn't seem to favor the knee that much though. After the match, they teased that Bray Wyatt would hit the ring but he then backed off. Crowd was doing the big "Yes" chants after the match.
They did a Cena vs. Orton tease backstage in front of HHH, Stephanie and trainer Larry Heck. RANDY ORTON VS. BIG SHOW FOR THE WWE TITLE
This was one of the worst WWE main events in the last few years. They were outside the ring and Show knocked Orton out. Show threw Orton in the ring, but HHH, Stephanie and Kane all came out. Show was distracted, and Orton hit the RKO. However, Orton was still selling and couldn't get the pin. Orton then went for the punt and actually missed it, but it was sold like he hit it. He then pinned Show.
After the match, Cena came in the ring and it looks like they are teasing a Cena vs. Orton match for next month or WrestleMania. I guess it'll be made clear tomorrow. Orton and Cena both have no opponent for next month.
