WWE Team Cena house show report 1-18 Cincinnati

By Nate Pelley

WWE “Team Cena” house show report for 1/18 in Cincinnati, OH at US Bank Arena:

Pre-show Justin Roberts announces that the interactive poll tonight will be for the Alicia Fox/Aksana match where we will get to decide if it will be a regular match or a dance off.

Prerecorded comments from Randy Orton where he promised to beat Cena later tonight.

Prime Time Players defeated Ryback and Curtis Axel. PTP out first to a decent reaction. Ryback got a smattering of cheers but was mostly booed. He was by far the most over of the four. Finish saw O’Neil hit the Clash of the Titus on Axel for the pin. PTP picked a kid out of the crowd to dance with them during their entrance as well as exit. Just as they were about to head backstage, the Real Americans jumped the PTP.  Zeb was out in a wheel chair and cut a promo about the tag title match later. Good heat for the Real Americans.

Alicia Fox defeated Aksana. Better than you might expect. Aksana has improved tremendously over the past few months. Fox pinned her after the Watch Yo Face scissors kick.

Xavier Woods defeated Brodus Clay. Same Clay house show match he’s been doing for the last few weekends – Clay is totally dominant, gets cut off, eats a finisher, and is pinned in under 2 minutes. Xavier’s intro video is interesting… Clay’s new music is not.

Goldust & Cody Rhodes defeated the Real Americans. Zeb was at ringside in his wheelchair. They did a double heat segment, first on Goldust and then on Cody. Crowd went nuts for the hot tag to Goldust. Extremely well worked match which saw Goldust hit the sunset flip/powerbomb on Cesaro for the win. Best match of the show up until this point by far and it went a solid 15 minutes.

After intermission Brad Maddox was introduced. He cut a brief promo and brought out Kane. He announced that Big Show was not there due to travel problems, and therefore Kane would win by forfeit. Maddox went on say he figured Kane still wanted a match, so he had a surprise opponent. Lights went out and the Wyatt Family (Harper and Rowan) showed up in the ring. Maddox corrected himself and announced Kane had opponents, in a 2 on 1 handicap match. Match didn’t have a lot of heat since it was all heels, even though Kane worked as the defacto babyface. Harper and Rowan doubled teamed Kane and Rowan got the pin after Harper hit his clothesline.

Albert Del Rio defeated Sin Cara. Del Rio worked a surprising Memphis style match with lots of stalling, playing to the crowd, fake handshake spot, etc. Match was interesting as there would be some really good sequences immediately followed by a spot that was obviously just a hair off. Crowd was into it though and the action was overall solid. Del Rio won via submission with the arm bar.

John Cena defeated Randy Orton via DQ. Same finish and same match they have been doing for weeks. Really good action though and the place was on fire for Cena.
