UFC On FX 1: Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online Staff Picks & Predictions

UFC On FX: Guillard vs. MillerIt's Friday night...do you feel alright? It's the debut of UFC On FX with a four-fight main card sure to scintillate, electrify and put a warmth in your heart on a cold winter's night.

Here's our panel o'pickers for tonight's show.

- Dave Meltzer (8-2): Wrestling Observer founder & writer | Yahoo MMA

- Todd Martin (6-4): Weekly FFD guest | RAW recapper | LA Times | Sherdog

- Mike Sempervive (7-3): Wrestling Observer Live | Big Audio Nightmare

- Oliver Copp (7-3) & Mike Sawyer (7-3) of Tough Talk: Show

- Josh Nason (4-6): FFD guest | FIGHT! Magazine | WGAM MMA Show | Bloody Elbow

Bryan Alvarez is 0-3 in submitting picks, a .000 mark. Blame it on the snow.

Melvin Guillard (29-9-2-1) vs. Jim Miller (20-3)

Guillard was justthisclose to a UFC lightweight title shot but a 47-second submission loss to Joe Lauzon in October stunted that quickly. Up until that point, Guillard had won five in a row and will look to get back on track against another justthisclose lightweight title contender in Miller, who had won seven straight before losing to Ben Henderson in August.

The winner puts themselves in a good position for a title shot with a win here. A note: Miller has never been finished, while Guillard's last seven losses were all by submission.

Guillard: Nason
Miller: Meltzer, Martin, Sawyer, Copp, Sempervive

Duane Ludwig (21-11) vs. Josh Neer (32-10-1)

Now the official owner of the fastest KO in UFC history, Ludwig rides into Friday with two straight wins. Neer made his second shot in the UFC count with an October second round TKO win over Keith Wisniewski, capping a five fight win streak. With a 75 combined tilts, I think this one will be a lot more fun than most expect.

Ludwig: Nason, Meltzer, Copp
Neer: Martin, Sawyer, Sempervive

Mike Easton (11-1) vs. Jared Papazian (14-6)

Earlier this week, Dave said that Easton has a ton of charisma and thinks he'll do pretty well on TV when more people see him. After an October second round TKO win over Byron Bloodworth in his UFC debut, he gets his shot against the debuting Papazian, winner of his last three. Easton has won six straight.

Note: Papazian has gone to decision in five straight, while Easton has finishes in four of his last six.

Easton: Nason, Meltzer, Martin, Sawyer, Copp, Sempervive

Pat Barry (6-4) vs. Christian Morecraft (7-2)

It's do or die for Barry who is coming off losses to Cheick Kongo and Stefan Struve and is just 3-4 in his UFC career. Morecraft is looking to rebound after a June loss to Matt Mitrione and has just one win over Sean McCorkle in three UFC fights. With the Strikeforce heavyweights taking up residency, it could be curtains for Morecraft with a loss as well.

Barry: Nason, Meltzer, Martin, Sawyer, Copp, Sempervive

Play-by-play has probably started on WrestlingObserver.com by the time you read this. The main card kicks off at 9 PM EST and is live in the West Coast as well. Hit it!
