UFC: Jon Jones gets a new challenger for Toronto and it isn't Sonnen or Machida

In a wild day in the UFC, it was announced early Friday morning EST that Lyoto Machida turned down the opportunity to challenge Jon Jones for the 205-pound title in late-September at UFC 152, first reported by Ariel Helwani.

Instead, Vitor Belfort has accepted the title shot and will face Jones in the main event of the Toronto show.

Belfort was scheduled fight Alan Belcher at UFC 153 in Rio, Brazil, in a 185-pound fight. This has raised speculation that Chris Weidman would be a good candidate to fight Belcher as 185-pound champ Anderson Silva is expected to be out until 2013.

More on this story from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez as Friday progresses.
