UFC announces return to Boston, will coincide with network relaunch

By Josh Nason

On Friday, the UFC announced their return to Boston - Saturday, August 17 at the TD Garden - for an event that will be a feature part of the Fox Sports 1 relaunch. UFC president Dana White announced the show via Twitter, adding that he is going to bring 'a SICK card'.

The UFC debuted in Boston in August 2010 with UFC 118 featuring Frankie Edgar retaining his lightweight title in a rematch against B.J. Penn and Randy Couture submitting James Toney in a memorable co-main event. This is the promotion's first show in Massachusetts since that event.

Fox Sports 1 will be replacing the Speed Network starting on August 17th, a 24-hour sports channel that will be airing many of Fox's various sports properties like Major League Baseball, UEFA soccer, UFC and more.
