UFC announced today the signing of 11 women in a deal with Invicta FC, taking over the contracts of the following 115-pounders:
*Invicta champion Carla Esparza
*No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha
*Felice Herrig, a somewhat charismatic fighter well known to hardcore fans from smaller circuits
*Joanne Calderwood, an undefeated fighter from Scotland
*Tecia Torres, a fighter who has a great style who stole the show at the last Invicta card. She has the "it" factor
*Rowdy Bec Hyatt from Australia
*Paige Van Zant
The women will debut in the 20th season of The Ultimate Fighter, set to debut in the fall -- the first all-women's season of the show. They will compete in a tournament on the show as usual, and the live final at the end of the year will determine the UFC's first women's 115-pound champion.
Five more fighters will be signed for the show, which will be a 16-person tournament and the first time a TUF show will crown a UFC world champion.
