AEW Dynamite back over one million viewers for Fyter Fest night one

Source: Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics

Last night's Fyter Fest night one edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 1.025 million viewers on TNT, up 17.7 percent from the previous week.

It's the fifth-largest audience in Dynamite's history, despite the fact that the second hour of the show was going up against game four of the NBA Finals.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.40 rating and ranked first on cable for the night. The actual viewership number in that category was 518,000 viewers, up 22.7 percent from last week. The viewership and demo number were the highest for Dynamite since May 5.

Year-over-year, Dynamite was up 30.1 percent in overall viewership and up 37.9 percent in the 18-49 demo. Dynamite had competition from NXT at this time last year but wasn't going against the NBA Finals, so that's a huge increase and very unusual for cable television.

Here's a look at the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for episodes where Dynamite aired on Wednesdays, along with the 10-week average in both categories. Not included are the weeks where Dynamite moved nights due to the NBA playoffs in late May and most of June:
