AEW Dynamite ratings up for Grand Slam, doesn't beat WWE Raw

Last night's Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 1.273 million viewers on TNT, up 8.3 percent from last week. It's the third-highest viewership in the show's history.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite topped the cable charts with a 0.48 rating, which is also the third-highest number the show has ever done. The demo rating was up 9.1 percent from last week.

After beating WWE Raw in the 18-49 demo the past two weeks, Dynamite's 0.48 rating fell just short of the 0.49 that Raw drew this Monday.

Dynamite's numbers were up across all age categories, and the show actually tied its all-time record with viewers over 50, drawing a 0.50 rating in that demo. That matched the April 14 Dynamite that featured an advertised appearance by Mike Tyson.

Year-over-year, Dynamite was up 52.5 percent in overall viewers and up 50 percent in the 18-49 demo. Even though those numbers are being compared to when Dynamite was running head-to-head with NXT, they're still astounding year-over-year growth for a cable TV show.

As compared to the recent 10-week averages (as shown in the chart below), Dynamite was up 15.2 percent in overall viewers and up 11.6 percent in the 18-49 demo. Not including this week, Dynamite is now averaging more than 1.1 million viewers per week and a 0.43 demo rating, numbers which would've been near records just a couple months ago.
