AEW Dynamite slightly regains viewership lead over NXT

After two weeks of falling behind NXT in total viewers, AEW slightly regained the lead this week.

AEW Dynamite averaged 851,000 viewers last night, edging out NXT, which did 845,000 viewers.

The AEW number was up 28 percent from last week's series low. In the 18-49 demo, the show did a 0.32 rating, eighth place for the night on cable and up 23 percent from last week.

NXT was up four percent in total viewers and up 21 percent in the demo, averaging a 0.26 rating. That placed NXT 12th for the night on cable.

Both numbers were up from the 10-week average for NXT. They were down from the 10-week average for AEW, but the really strong numbers for their first few weeks skew those numbers for Dynamite.

In other demos, NXT actually scored victories in categories other than 50+, which is unusual for that show. In persons 18-34, NXT had a slight edge of 0.2 to 0.19. In females 12-34, they scored a 0.12 to 0.11 win.

NXT's strongest category, as always, was with those over 50, where they averaged a 0.38 rating to AEW's 0.31.

Dynamite's strongest number was in men 18-49, where they had an advantage of 0.41 to 0.36.

Here's a look at the Wednesday Night War numbers for both shows over the last 10 weeks:
