With news programming once again dominating the ratings, AEW and NXT were both down in viewership this week. Despite that, the shows still had their second best combined viewership total since March.

AEW Dynamite on TNT averaged 730,000 viewers, down 11.7 percent from last week. The viewership total was nearly identical to the numbers on both April 22 and May 6, which -- aside from last week -- is the best the show has done since March 25.

In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite dropped all the way down to 27th on cable with a 0.29 rating. That's down 9.4 percent from last week.

NXT on the USA Network was only down 2.2 percent in viewership, averaging 715,000 viewers for the TakeOver: In Your House go-home show. Again putting aside last week, it's the best number for the show since March 4.

In 18-49, NXT was actually up 5.3 percent from last week, averaging a 0.20 rating to finish 45th on cable TV in that category.

The combined audience of 1.445 million viewers was down from last week but considerably higher than it's been through most of the closed set era.

As usual, AEW won every demo except for people over 50, where NXT had an advantage of 0.35 to 0.27. AEW's strongest category was men 18-49, where they averaged a 0.37 rating as compared to NXT's 0.25.

Here's a look at the viewership totals and 18-49 demo ratings for both shows over the last 10 weeks:
