Daily Update: Lawler vs. Cerrone at MSG, CWC, #PunkWeek day 2

CWC

THE ROUND-UP

The Latest from the F4W Staff

Report: Robbie Lawler vs. Cowboy Cerrone set for UFC's MSG debut - MSG will be the location of UFC's first New York show, and that first show already has an awesome match signed. Hopefully Cerrone can get in some wake boarding time on the Hudson river to prepare.

WOL: Sempervive & Stern on The Last Battle of Atlanta 9/7 - That's right, Howard Stern joins Mike Sempervive... as if... Howard wouldn't have a clue, so Semp brings in the great KARL Stern to reminisce about the newest WWE gem.

WWE SmackDown video highlights: Meet the Slater kids - Smackdown is back, in video highlight form. Watch the show in 20 minutes and then go get some exercise. We've got a big weekend of sitting down and watching TV in store.

B&V&C: Retro Raw and Nitro including Brian Pillman stealing Marlena~! 9/6 - Bryan and Vinny were probably in their dorm rooms at a Nitro party with Stagger Lee Marshall the first time this aired. Listen as the fellas recount their re-watching experience, 19 years after the original airing.

American Alpha out of SmackDown tag title finals due to Chad Gable "injury" - Bad news for the other team Alpha as Gable gets injured. Maybe they could sign Money Mendes to replace him. He's doing anything for the next two years.

The Day In Punk: Interesting CM Punk fight license twist, Embedded, photo shoot - Ohio is for lovers, not fighters, apparently.

Heath Slater's journey to the SmackDown roster to continue at WWE Backlash - The unsigned Heath Slater sure is getting a lot of air time for a supposed non-employee. Let that be a lesson to Indy wrestlers. Never sign with WWE if you want to be on WWE TV.

WWE SmackDown live results: Backlash go-home show - Sure, it's a Smackdown only PPV this Sunday, but it's the first of the new era!

Figure Four Weekly: 8/29/2016, NWA vs. Department of Justice - Recently, as an outgrowth of my interest in public records, court records, and so on, I started to get into the habit of filing Freedom of Information Act (or "FOIA") requests with various United States government agencies. It was the same fascination that took me to the court records; There's stuff out there, just waiting to be seen, that nobody was looking at... Subscribers click here to continue reading.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter: September 6, 2016: Kevin Owens wins WWE Universal Title, Joe Silva leaves UFC, tons more more - Kevin Owens captured the WWE Universal title in a four-way elimination match on 8/29 in Houston as part of the company’s latest reset.

HHH returned for the first time since WrestleMania, single-handedly winning the match by giving both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins pedigrees and basically handing the championship to Owens in the latest version of The Authority handing out the championship instead of talent winning it...
