Former TNA World Champion debuts at NXT tapings

Eric Young

When former TNA Champions Eric Young and Bobby Roode left TNA in March, the assumption they would head to the land of WWE/NXT seemed pretty obvious. But as we know in today's wrestling culture, anything is possible when it comes to what goes into that decision making process.

Roode made an on-screen debut during NXT TakeOver during Wrestlemania weekend and Thursday night at the latest set of NXT tapings, Young made his promotional debut by interrupting and confronting NXT Champion Samoa Joe during an interview segment. The two then had a non-title match as part of the first show they taped. Even thought it's a taping, WWE and HHH wasted no time tweeting about the debut -- even going so far as to share a video of the entrance.

The 36-year-old Young has been a pro since 1998 and is best known for his decade-plus run in TNA that saw him win every male title the company offered and even the Knockouts tag team titles at one point.
