AEW Dark Elevation results: Anthony Ogogo returns

It’s Monday and you know what that means: a seven-match AEW Dark: Elevation taped last Wednesday at Duluth, Georgia’s Gas South Arena.

Riho defeated Angelica Risk

The match began with a back-and-forth of arm locks between until Riho got the upper hand. Riho (21-5) hit a sequence of a tiger kick and a flying crossbody with the Somato getting her the win ahead of her match on Dynamite against Jamie Hayter.

The Nightmare Family (Lee Johnson, Brock Anderson and Dustin Rhodes) defeated The Wingmen (JD Drake, Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi) (w/ Ryan Nemeth)

Johnson and Avalon started things out with Johnson gaining the advantage with a great armdrag. As expected, Nemeth aided the Wingmen during certain points of the match. It built to a great Rhodes hot tag that had him clean house, complete with a smooth powerslam. Rhodes hit a jumping spinning neckbreaker on Avalon to pick up the win for the Family.

Brian Pillman Jr. (w/ Julia Hart) defeated Serpentico (w/ Luther)

Serpentico dominated Pillman and grounded him. Pillman was able to slowly turn things around and got a near fall with a jackhammer. Luther gave a bit of "soul food" to Pillman with a kick (as Tony Schiavone called it) to help Serpentico even more, but it was not enough. In the end, Pillman (29-11 overall) picked up the win with the Air Pillman clothesline.

The Factory (Anthony Ogogo, Nick Comoroto, QT Marshall and Aaron Solo) defeated Baron Black, Tony Vincita, JD Muñoz and Shawn Hoodrich

This was the AEW debut for Vincita, Muñoz and Hoodrich. This match also was the return of Ogogo to AEW after being away due to eye surgery. Comoroto started by throwing Vincita and The Factory controlled the match from there. Marshall hit a diamond cutter on Munoz to take him out while and Ogogo finished things off with an pop-up punch to Hoodrich to end the match by knockout in favor of The Factory.

Abadon and Ryo Mizunami defeated The Bunny and Emi Sakura (w/ Mei Suruga)

Abadon hit an unexpected X-Factor on Bunny early. Once Mizunami and Sakura crossed paths, Mizunami worked for her world-famous machine gun chops on both of her opponents. Sakura and Suruga did their camera pose spot, but both were scared by Abadon appearing behind them. Abadon won after a modified facebuster on Bunny.

Jurassic Express defeated Brandon Tate and Brent Tate

The Tate brothers started on the wrong foot with Jungle Boy countering everything they had to offer, but they were able to get the upper hand at one point. That is, until Luchasaurus got the hot tag. Luchasaurus hit double chokeslams and an assisted power bomb with Jungle Boy gave them another win.

The Acclaimed defeated Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean

Dean and Bravo were on top early, but it didn't last long. A C4 and Mic Drop gave The Acclaimed the win, upping their record to 29-7.

Final Thoughts:

This was a short and enjoyable show. It's more fun to watch when HFO and Dark Order are not booked every week and trading wins. Abadon and Mizunami vs. Sakura and The Bunny was the most enjoyable match of the show.
