Ace Steel released from AEW

CM Punk / Ace Steel

Ace Steel is no longer with All Elite Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio Wednesday morning that Steel is no longer under contract with the company.

“So he was officially released yesterday," Meltzer said. "So I guess that is the first bit of news out of that whole situation in weeks. There’s a lot of other stuff going on."

Steel was part of a backstage altercation that took place during the AEW All Out media scrum on September 5 between CM Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega following negative comments Punk made during the scrum involving them. Reports at the time said that during the altercation, Steel joined in, at one point biting Omega. AEW has since suspended everyone involved and has not publicly commented on the situation.

Steel had joined AEW in 2022, working backstage as a producer. Prior to All Out, he appeared in a promo with Punk encouraging him to take Jon Moxley’s open challenge for the event after Punk had doubts following his loss to Moxley the prior week. Punk was eventually convinced to take the rematch.
