AEW Dark results: The Acclaimed vs. Colt Cabana & Alan Angels

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means: AEW Dark. Tonight, we have an eleven match card with exciting action.

Ethan Page defeated Danny Limelight

This was a hot opener. A fun sprint is the best way to describe it as Page won with the Ego’s Edge. His partner Scorpio Sky was on the commentary table putting over Page and talking about their feud with Sting and Darby Allin.

Dante Martin defeated Sonny Kiss

Martin’s singles run since his brother sustained his knee injury has been quite interesting to watch. Every time he’s in the ring, he always delivers a fun match and this was no exception. Kiss was great in this match, too. Martin won with an awesome looking stunner and credit to Kiss for the way he sold it. Martin’s record in 2021 is 9-3.

Later on the show, Kiss confronted Joey Janela after weeks of Janela avoiding him which he blamed on Alex Marvez for their recent trips to strip clubs. Kiss later told Janela they were over as a tag team so Marvez and Janela went back to "the nip factory."

Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Charlette Renegade

This was another Rose squash match which ended with another Beast Bomb, her ninth straight singles win dating back to April.

Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) defeated Shane Mercer & KTB

John Silver joined on commentary and it was great as he and Taz played well off each another. KTB and Mercer looked great but came up on the losing end as Grayson won after hitting Nightfall. Uno and Grayson’s record is 20-3 in 2021.

Wardlow defeated Chandler Hopkins

Similar to his match on Elevation Monday, Wardlow destroyed his opponent for the entirety of this short match, winning via submission with a front guillotine.

Cezar Bononi (w/ The Wingmen) defeated Dillon McQueen

McQueen is a Nightmare Factory product. During the match, The Wingmen intervened on Bononi’s favor and he mocked Orange Cassidy ahead of their Friday meeting on Dynamite. Bononi won after a pump handle toss, running his record to 4-5.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Jake Tucker

This was Tucker's AEW debut and it was a fine one. But, it's impossible to have a bad match when you are facing someone as good and experienced as “The Elite Hunter." Kazarian won this match with a cross face chicken wing.

KiLynn King defeated Valentina Rossi

This was Rossi's AEW debut and like Tucker, it was a good match and solid debut. King has improved so much since joining AEW, winning after hitting Kingdom Falls.

Gunn Club (Billy and Colten) defeated Chaos Project

This was a battle of the AEW Dark and Elevation regulars. Chaos Project are so bizarre and yet, a fun act to watch. This match had a lot of yelling from Japanese deathmatch match legend Dr. Luther and it ruled. It also featured plenty of Luther using Serpentico as a weapon. The trash talk between both teams was pretty funny. Billy Gunn won with the famouser.

Tay Conti defeated Willow Nightingale

This was another good showing for Nightingale. Conti is just awesome and her evolution in AEW continues to be impressive to watch. Personally, I would love to see a longer version of this match. Conti won with the DDTay upping her record this year to 16-3.

The Acclaimed defeated Dark Order's Colt Cabana & Alan “5” Angels

Max Caster had another funny rap before the match and The Acclaimed got another win over a Dark Order team. Both teams worked well with one another and in particular with Angels. Caster got the win for his tag team with the Mic Drop.

Final Thoughts:

This was another episode of Dark that was easy to watch. Taz and Excalibur remain the most fun commentary duo in AEW. Nothing overstayed its welcome and there were a few matches that could have gone longer like Conti vs. Nightingale. Janela and Marvez had another fun backstage segment.

My match of the night: Grayson and Uno vs. KTB and Shane Mercer. The main event was also pretty good and worth checking out.
