Four title matches announced for NJPW Dominion

New Japan has announced four title matches for next month’s Dominion event.

This year’s Dominion, which will take place on June 12 at Osaka-jo Hall, will have Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP World Heavyweight title against Jay White. Other title matches have Tama Tonga defending the NEVER Openweight title against Karl Anderson, Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale defending the IWGP Tag Team titles against Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb, and Shingo Takagi defending the KOPW 2022 provisional trophy against Taichi, with rules yet to be determined.

Okada was celebrating his title defense at Wrestling Dontaku when Jay White came out to challenge him. A distraction by Gedo allowed White to lay out Okada, with the rest of the Bullet Club eventually coming out. Wrestling Dontaku ended with White laying out Okada a second time with the bladerunner. The same thing happened earlier in the show when Karl Anderson, along with Doc Gallows, made their return to Japan by attacking Tama Tonga after he won the NEVER title from EVIL.

After Owens and Fale won the Tag Team titles at Dontaku, they were immediately confronted by Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb, who wanted a rematch.

Taichi scored a pinfall win over Shingo in the opening tag match of Wrestling Dontaku, setting up an eventual rematch following Taichi losing the trophy to Shingo.
