Number one contender's match set for next week's WWE NXT

A triple threat match on next week's NXT will determine Karrion Kross' challenger for TakeOver: In Your House 2021.

On tonight's NXT episode, general manager William Regal announced that Kyle O'Reilly, Pete Dunne, and Johnny Gargano will face off in a triple threat number one contender's match on NXT next Tuesday (June 1). The winner will challenge for Kross' NXT Championship at TakeOver: In Your House on Sunday, June 13.

Kross defeated Finn Balor at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver last month to win the NXT Championship. Kross and Balor faced off in a rematch on NXT tonight, with Kross retaining when Balor passed out in the Kross Jacket.

Gargano lost the NXT North American Championship to Bronson Reed in a steel cage match last Tuesday.

Dunne was in action on NXT tonight and defeated Bobby Fish.

1990s WWF broadcaster Todd Pettengill will be the host of NXT TakeOver: In Your House. This will be the second straight year that an NXT TakeOver: In Your House event has taken place. In 2020, the In Your House name was revived for NXT's first TakeOver following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Next Tuesday's NXT will also feature an NXT Tag Team title match with MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) defending against Legado del Fantasma (Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde).
