WWE NXT live results: Three title matches

Three title matches are set for the third week of NXT 2.0.

The NXT Women's Championship will be on the line as Raquel Gonzalez defends against Franky Monet tonight. They were originally set to face off for the title on the NXT 2.0 premiere two weeks ago, but the match was pulled from the lineup for the show.

The NXT Women's Tag Team titles and NXT Cruiserweight Championship will also both be defended tonight. Io Shirai & Zoey Stark will defend their tag titles against Toxic Attraction's Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne, while Grayson Waller will challenge for Roderick Strong's Cruiserweight title.

Strong won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Kushida on NXT last week.

Plus, Hit Row's B-Fab will take on Legado del Fantasma's Elektra Lopez in a no DQ match, Kyle O'Reilly faces Ridge Holland, Lash Legend's "Lashing Out" talk show will debut, and we'll see the honeymoon of Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The show kicks off with a pre-match promo from Hit Row. Tonight is "all about the ladies." Hit Row runs down the women's titles matches on the show. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott makes a point to mention his North American title isn't on the line ... again. B-Fab goes on threaten Elektra Lopez, saying she would beat her like she owed her currency.

Elektra Lopez (with Legado del Fantasma) defeated B- Fab (with Hit Row) in a no DQ match

Lopez pinned B-Fab after a weapons filled brawl. They used chairs, tables and kendo sticks in an ECW knock off match, and that's not a knock. It was wild.

Lopez used a sit-out powerbomb to win. The two factions got involved during the match before it went through a commercial break.

The first of several skits airs depicting the In-Dex honeymoon. Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis were at the beach. Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano were spying on them, but not in a creepy way. It was all for comedy, and Johnny dressed as a shark to scare Hartwell into jumping in Lumis' arms. All for laughs and whatnot.

Joe Gacy, fresh off getting some recent press, is back this week for an in-ring promo. He sat in the ring saying he was not canceled after all. He got more attention than other top stars in NXT, without even throwing a punch. He speaks for a misunderstood generation he calls the "enlightened ones." Ok, bud. Sure.

Xyon Quinn defeated Oney Lorcan

Quinn pinned Lorcan in a short, yet competitive, match. Basically a way to showcase Quinn. He smashed Lorcan with a flying forearm before pinning Lorcan.

A vignette profiled Grayson Waller. He's a risk taker, and his first singles match in NXT is for a championship.

Samantha Irvin interviews the NXT Tag Team Champions, MSK, in the ring. They are interrupted by Grizzled Young Veterans, who were in turn interrupted by Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Arguments ensue. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen interrupt, and brawling erupts. A melee breaks out.

Mandy Rose, now with curly hair, confronts NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez.

NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Io Shirai & Zoey Stark defeated Gigi Dolan & Jacy Jayne (with Mandy Rose) to retain their titles

Shirai pinned Jayne to retain against Toxic Attraction.

They built to parade of dives to the outside before cutting to a commercial break. Stark and Shirai worked well together, even though they don't get along in storyline.

Stark got to shine, and she began to clean house. Shirai then got to run wild. Shirai put both Dolan and Jayne in a crossface at the same time. Rose interfers, and Toxic Attraction got a nearfall.

Stark flew outside with a plancha, and she got in Rose's face. Meanwhile, Shirai delivers a palm strike, and she follows with a moonsault press. Shirai then pins Jayne.

Bron Breakker in a great vignette called out NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. The champ responded with a promo of his own, and he is not backing down from the challenge.

Boa defeated Andre Chase

Boa pinned Chase in a another short match. Mei Ying blew smoke in the face of Chase, and Boa hit him with a heart punch. Boa then delivers a slop drop, and he pins Chase.

Chase's gear looks like he stepped off the set of Leave It To Beaver. Heel vs. heel here, so not sure who to care about.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong (with Diamond Mine) defeated Grayson Waller to retain his title

Strong won clean via pinfall in the best match by far on the show.

Waller jumped Strong before the bell in a sneak attack. Basically that was to no avail, as Strong was solidly in control when the show returns from a commercial break.

Waller begins a comeback with a missile dropkick. Strong feeds into Waller. Flying elbow drop off the second rope by Waller for a nearfall. Stunner by Waller for another close two count.

Waller was on a roll until Strong struck him down with a jumping knee strike. Strong then pins Waller.

Lashing Out with Lash Legend is a new pre-taped talk show segment. Legend is on a set like it's a late night talk show. This was similar to the old Talk Soup show.

Kyle O'Reilly defeated Ridge Holland

O'Reilly pinned Holland after interference backfired on Pete Dunne.

O'Reilly jumps Holland during his entrance, and the show cuts to commercial as the two were brawling at ringside.

The match was joined in progress after the break. Holland got to showcase his power, and O'Reilly fought from underneath at times.

Pete Dunne ran down to cause a distraction. That backfired on the heels, and O'Reilly used an O'Connor Roll to knock Dunne off the apron while also rolling up Holland for a pinfall.

The heels attack O'Reilly after the match. Von Wagner runs in to make a save. The heels flee, and this would seem to set up a tag match.

Tony D'Angelo debuts next week.

Matches officially announced for next Tuesday on NXT:

  • LA Knight vs Odyssey Jones
  • Eight-man tag team match: MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) & Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams

NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez defeated Franky Monet (with Robert Stone & Jessi Kamea) to retain her title

Gonzalez pinned Monet to retain the championship.

Gonzalez looked strong early on with power moves. Monet gains an advantage, and she gets heat on Gonzalez.

Monet taunts Gonzalez, and Gonzalez hulks up to begin a comeback. Gonzalez goes for her finisher, but she stops to sell her back. That played off a Gonzalez bump earlier in the match, and Monet had worked the back.

Monet tries to capitalize, but she is caught by Gonzalez for her powerbomb finisher. Gonzalez then pins her to retain the title.

The Toxic Attraction trios enters the scene after the match. They attack Monet, Kamea and Stone, and they lay them out. Toxic Attraction then attack Gonzalez. The champion suffers a beatdown at the hands of Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolan and Jacy Jayne. Rose poses with the championship belt as the show closes.
