The card for Extreme Rules will continue to take shape on Tuesday night.
A number one contender's gauntlet match is set to take place on this week's SmackDown, with The Miz, Samoa Joe, Rusev, Daniel Bryan, and Big E announced as the participants for it. The winner will challenge for AJ Styles' WWE Championship at Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 15.
Styles won a last man standing match against Shinsuke Nakamura at Money in the Bank to retain the title and end their feud.
After the gauntlet that took place on Raw before Elimination Chamber was a success critically and in the ratings, the match type was used when Sasha Banks became the final participant in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match and when Kalisto won a Cruiserweight title shot prior to challenging Cedric Alexander at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
A multi-man match (with Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley as the first two wrestlers confirmed for it) to decide the next challenger for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship has also been announced for Extreme Rules, along with Alexa Bliss defending the Raw Women's title against Nia Jax.
