The Big Takeaway: Mojo Rawley grabbed his first win in six months, beating No Way Jose in the opener. Then, Sarah Logan looked fired up in a dominant win over Dana Brooke at the end of the show.
Mojo Rawley defeated No Way Jose (6:00)
Rawley came out to the ring in new ring gear and new face paint this week. He now has red, orange, and black gear with the same on his face. Although color is often absent on ring gear these days, this didn’t look great at all.
Rawley took the first half of the match, giving Jose very little. But Jose then hit a senton from the apron onto Rawley at ringside and followed with a top rope crossbody for a near fall.
At the finish, Rawley sent Jose head-first into the second turnbuckle and followed it up with a running forearm to Jose in the corner. Rawley used an Alabama Slam for the win in a match where both men worked hard.
Sarah Logan defeated Dana Brooke (4:07)
Before the bell on this one, Logan attacked Brooke with a dropkick so that she crashed to the outside of the ring. Brooke was shocked, but she gathered herself and entered the ring again. Logan struck again, and after the referee separated the pair, the bell was finally rung.
What looked like it was going to be a squash became a reasonably even contest. Logan took the lion’s share of the going, but Brooke did get some hope, landing a senton for a near fall. Brooke was bleeding from her lower lip at this point.
Logan took the win by using her knee drop to the back of Brooke’s neck. The win was only Logan’s third singles victory of 2019.
