Pentagon Jr. wins World title as Impact debuts new belt designs

Impact started with a fresh slate tonight, crowning a new world champion and bringing in a new set of title belts.

Pentagon Jr. won the Impact Wrestling World championship tonight at Redemption, pinning Aries after hitting a Pentagon Driver in a triple threat match that also involved Fenix. Aries, who has been doing a belt collecting gimmick, had held the title for 102 days, defeating Eli Drake back on January 10.

Pentagon was awarded the new Impact World title, which you can see below along with the new designs for the tag team, Knockouts and X division championships:

Impact had their last set of titles made after they merged with Global Force Wrestling last year. However, the titles soon became obsolete when Jeff Jarrett, who owns the rights to the Global Force name, was fired from the promotion after an incident at a indy show. Since then, Impact reverted back to their original name and has put Impact plates over the GFW logos on their titles.
