Preliminary Card

UFC Fight Pass, 7 p.m. ET

Fredy Serrano vs. Bentley Syler, flyweights

First round: Syler threw a leg kick and Serano knocked him down with a punch.  Serano with a head kick.  Good right by Serano.   Head kick by Serano.  He tried a takedown but couldn’t get it.  Syler cut near the right eye.  Spin kick by Serano.  Syler landed some good punches.  Jumping kick by Serano.  Takedown by Serano.  Serano 10-9.

Second round: Uppercut by Serano, Right by Serano.  Spin kick just grazed him.  Serao with a spinning backfist.  Syler landed a nice right late.  Fans booed the round Serano 20-18

Third round: Syler’s corner told him he’d lost both rounds and to quit shadow boxing because he won’t win that way, but Serano is tired and he can put him away.  At least that’s what his corner told him. Takedown by Serano right away.  Knee by Serano.  Sylver bleeding from both eyes.  The ref stopped it to have the doctor look at his cuts.  The doctor said no problem.  Big right by Serano.  Serano knocked him cold with a right uppercut.  The ref jumped in to stop him immediately.

Jorge de Oliveira vs. Christos Giagos, lightweights

First round: Giagos landed an overhand right.  De Oliveira is a kickboxing champion.  Immediate takedown by Giagos.  Giagos got full mount and pounding on him.  De Oliveira tried a heel hook but Giagos escaped and moved back to mount.  Giagos took hs back and got a choke.  De Oliveira tapped The ref was real late in figuring out de Oliveira was tapping.

FOX Sports 2, 8 p.m. ET

Cain Carrizosa vs. Leonardo Mafra, lightweights

First round: Carrizosa dropped himwith a right and has his back.  Mafra got out of trouble.  Mafra landed a combination.  Mafra now landing solid strikes.  Both landing now.  Hard left hook by Mafra.  Another strong left by Mafra.  Mafra continuing to land.  Big left by Mafra and Carrizosa back with a right.  Both swinging.  Both continuing to throw punches.  Mafra slammed him down. Carrizoaa with a few jabs.  Head kick by Carrizosa.  Both landing punches and low kicks.  Mafra getting the better of it.  Mafra landing punches to the head and body and a body kick.  Great round.  Mafra 10-9.

Second round: Mafra landing a lot of punches and kicks.  Mafra landing more punches.  Carrizosa wants a takedown.  Mafra with punches and going for a takedown.  Body kick by Mafra.  Mafra ducked under and slammed him down.  Mafra in side control.  Another takedown by Mafra.  He’s throwing body and head punches from the top.  20-18 Mafra. 

Third round: Carrizosa went for a takedown, didn’t get it and Mafra took him down.  Carrizosa trying to get a leg lock.  In doing so Mafra got full mount.  Mafra landing punches from the toip.  Elbows by Mafra.  Mafra moved to mount.  Another takedown by Mafra as soon as Carrisoza got up.  Mafra landing punches.  Mafra in North-South control.  Mafra keeing him down and has to win 30-27.  First round was very good, afer that Mafra played it safer and easily won rounds two and three.

Scores:  30-26, 30-27 and 30-26 for Mafra

Drew Dober vs. Leandro Silva, lightweights

First round: Dober moving in.  Silva is making Dober miss punches and coming back.  Silva tried a takedown but didn’t get it.  Dober missed a high kick.  Body shots by Dober.  Nice right by Silva.  Dober is now dating the sister of Nick Hein, who he just fought.  That’s different.    Silva was the better fighter but he didn’t do enough on offense and Dober was the aggressor. 10-9 Dober but could go ether way

Second round: Silva got the takedown.  Dober up but Silva with a body-to-body takedown.  Silva got his back and now working for a guillotine.  This was a disaster. The ref called the fight and Dober was not even in trouble.  He had nothing.  Dober had just stared getting out of the guillotine when the ref stopped it.  This was one of the worst stoppages in a long, long time.  This is where you need replays.

Dober said there was no thought of tapping and he wants a rematch.  He handled that pretty well, saying that the crowd is very educated and they know he wasn’t going to tap.

Katsunori Kikuno vs. Kevin Souza, featherweights

First round: Crowd booing quickly.  Right and left by Souza but blocked.  Souza knocked him out with a right, just flattened him.  It was a right to the jaw by Souza just as Kikuno was ducking and throwing.

Akbarh Arreola vs. Francisco Trinaldo, lightweights

First round: Trinaldo pushed him against the fence.  Twisting powerslam but Trinaldo.  He’s now on top.  Trinaldo throwing elbows but several blocked.  Arreola bleeding from the elbows.  Trinaldo 10-9.

Second round: Trinaldo with a takedown.  Trinaldo thrwong elbows to the body.    John McCarthy ordered a standup with 30 seconds left.  Trinaldo put him down with a body punch.  20-18 Trinaldo.

Third round: Head kick by Arreola.  Spi kick by Arreola.  Knee to the bdy by Trinaldo.  Left by Trianlod.  Left by Trinaldo.  Good left by Trinaldo.  Another hard left by Trinaldo.  Another takedown by Trinaldo.  Trinaldo landing punches.  Has to be 30-27 Trinaldo.

Scores: All three have it 30-27 for Trinaldo.

Main Card

FOX Sports one, 10 p.m. ET

Andre Fili vs. Godofredo Pepey, featherweights

First round: Pepey took him down.  Pepey jumped in the air, brought him down and put on a triangle.  That was awesome.  Fili is in trouble.  Pepey threw an elbow while holding he triangle. Pepey held the triangle and Fili tapped out.  That’s a submission of the night winner.

Gilbert Burns vs. Alex Oliveira, lightweights

First round: Burns got a takedown.  Oliveria up and alnded some pnches.  Low kick by Burns.  Olivera landed a hard right.  Two rights by Oliveira.  Oliveria has a 77 inch reach.  Oliveira still landing.  10-9 Oliveira

Second round: Burns pushing Oliveira into the fence and working for a takedown.  Oliveria with an uppercut.  Low kick by Burns.  Oliveria with two punches. Burns with a right as a counter.  Oliveria moved in and landed a body shot.  Body kick by Burns. Knee by Oliveira.  Oliveira looking for a takedown with the idea of clinching the round.  Burns tried a hip toss but couldn’t get it.  Oliveira 20-18.

Third round: Burns got the takedown.  He moved right into mount.  Burns is going for an uma plata.  Burns’ left eye is all messed up.  Crowd booing.  Burns let it go and moved to mount.  Burns working for an amrbar or a triangle.  Finally he got the armbar and pulled victory away from defeat.

Shayna Baszler vs. Amanda Nunes

First round: Low kick by Nunes.  Right by Nunes.  Low kick by Nunes.  Left and right by Nunes.  Baszler is in trouble.  Baszler tried a takedown and got punched.  Baszler is holding onto the leg but Nunes got away.  Nunes is just too fast.  Another low kick by Nunes.  Nunes landed a series of punches to the head.  Low kick to the knee and Baszler is hurt.  Nunes threw several punches on the ground after ref Mario Yamsaki wanted her to stop.  Yamasaki discussed that with her.

Tony Martin vs. Leonardo Santos, lightweights

First round: Santos with a low kick.  Another low kick by Santos.  Santos landed a right.  Martin hip tossed him down.  They were in a clinch and John McCarthy separated them.  Martin with a right.  Very close round 10-9 Martin.

Second round: Santos with a takedown.  Santos got his back.  He’s working for a choke.  Martin is defending so far.  Santos got it under the chin and Martin tapped out.

Josh Koscheck vs. Erick Silva, welterweights

First round: Body kick by Silva.  Silva trying for a takedown.  That’s just silly for a number of reasons.  Koscheck cracked him with an elbow.  Silva defending the takedown well.  The old Koscheck gets his takedown easy.  The crowd is booing as they are in a clinch.  Both missed wild punches.  Silva dropped him with a left.  Silva moved to the top.  Silva landed a punch and an elbow.  Hard punch by Silva but Koscheck got up.  Left by Silva hurt Koscheck.  Spin kick to the body by Silva.  Body kick b Silva.  Koscheck looked at the time.  High kick by Koscheck.  Koscheck missed a wild punch.  Koscheck landed a punch and slipped.  Silva hurt him with shots and Koscheck is going for a takedown.  Silva with a guillotine and Koscheck tapped.  This place went crazy for that one.

Ryan LaFlare vs. Demian Maia, welterweights

First round:   Maia landed a left.  LaFlare landed a left.  Maia got the takedown.  Maia keeping him down.  Maia got full mount.  Maia 10-9.

Second round: Maia landed a lef.  Maia took him down again.  Maia moved to mount.  He’s working for an arm triangle.  LaFlare was able to block it.  Maia threw some punches as the round ended.  Maia 20-18.

Third round: Maia went for a takedown but LaFlare blocked and is on top.  Maia grabbed he leg and went for a calf slicer, but couldn’t get it, but Maia got the takedown and moved into full mount.  Maia landing punches from the top.  30-27 Maia.

Fourth round: Another takedown by Maia.  Maia got mount again.  Maia working for an arm triangle.  This is just a nothing happenig fight.  Maia is dominating but not doing serious damage.  40-36 Maia

Fifth round: Maia went for the takedown but LaFlare blocked it.  Maia went for a takedown agian and was stopped.  LaFlare with a punch, low kick and body kick.  Maia failed on another takedown.  LaFlare wth a right and a kick.  LaFlare landing.  Hard knee by Maia as he shot in.  Maia is exhausted.  LaFlare on top with punches but Maia tied him up.  LaFlare got up.  Body kick by LaFlare twice.  Maia on the bicycle.  LaFlare with a hard left.  Maia got a takedown.  Maia moved to side control.  LaFlare escaped as time ran out  Maia dropped to the ground on his own as time ran out.  McCarthy docked Maia one point for stalling, which is a good call and one that is almost never made.  With the penalty point it’s a 10-8 round for LaFlare, so 48-46 for Maia should be the final score:
