UFC on ESPN+ 39 live results: Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall

Welcome to F4WOnline.com's live coverage of UFC On ESPN+ 39: Hall vs. Silva, emanating from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Octagon returns to the Fight Capital Of The World as UFC action is back at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, with the first event back from Fight Island featuring one of the biggest stars in the history of the UFC in his potential retirement fight.

Former UFC Middleweight Champion and living legend Anderson Silva steps into the Octagon for possibly the final time as he takes on Uriah Hall in the five-round main event. Silva, 45, stated last week that it was time to step away after this fight, and he gets an interesting opponent for his final fight as Hall looks for his third straight win. This is a fight that has been attempted to be made for years and it finally happens on this Halloween evening.

In the co-main event, it is a battle of rising featherweights as Andre Fili looks to hand Bryce Mitchell the first loss of his career. Also on the main card is a heavyweight bout between Maurice Greene and Greg Hardy, a middleweight bout between Kevin Holland and newcomer Charlie Ontiveros, and a lightweight fight as Bobby Green takes on Thiago Moises.

Follow along with our live coverage of the event beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern time with preliminary action all the way through the main card.

Official result - Thiago Moises (14-4) by unanimous decision (29-28 x 3)

Media scores were 73% for Green but this wasn't a robbery by any stretch. Rounds 1 and 3 were very close and 29-28 either way or 30-27 Green were all appropriate scores. This kind of fight is usually a split decision as it's rare that all 3 judges will give 2 close rounds to the same guy. Some people on social media claiming it's a bad decision because Green outstruck him heavily but most of that was in the 2nd round and Moises was landing the harder shots and doing the most damage, which the judges see and they don't see the stats.

Ref is warning him not to move so he may have done something to his neck. Looks like he may have been knocked out on the takedown.

Official result - Kevin Holland (20-5) by verbal submission

Holland was jawing with midldeweight champ Israel Adesanya after the fight. It's too early for a title shot for him but he's probably just 2 wins over ranked contenders away from that. With 4 straight wins in the divison, it's time he gets a top 15 guy next.

Ontiveros taken out of the Octagon on a stretcher and it looked like he may have suffered damage to his neck.

Hall is crying with his head on Silva's shoulder and Silva told him to keep doing his best and to enjoy his moment and thanked him for the fight. The seconds in the corner as well as media and officials I'd assume were clapping at this scene, which was incredible.

This was Uriah Hall's 7th UFC knockout at middleweight, trailing only Thiago Santos and Anderson Silva, who both have 8. Hall said he wants a fight with Adesanya, which isn't going to happen but a fight with Kevin Holland would definitely make sense and the winner of that would probably be one win away from a title shot.

Silva basically confirmed in his post-fight interview that this was his final fight. Then, when directly asked the quesition, he said he would have to go back home and think about it. He does have one fight left on is contract and you'd think he might want his last fight to be in his home country in front of fans, whenever that can happen again.

Hall was leading 29-28 on two of the judge's scorecards going into the 4th with the other score being 29-28 Silva.
