SmackDown Tag Team title match added to WWE Extreme Rules

A SmackDown Tag Team title match has been made official for Extreme Rules.

WWE announced this afternoon that Daniel Bryan & Rowan will defend their titles against The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) at Extreme Rules on July 14. Big E & Woods defeated Bryan & Rowan in a non-title match on SmackDown last week, then teamed with Heavy Machinery to defeat Bryan, Rowan, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

After The Hardys vacated the titles due to Jeff Hardy needing knee surgery, Bryan & Rowan became the SmackDown Tag Team Champions by defeating The Usos on the May 7 episode of SmackDown. They retained their titles against Heavy Machinery at Stomping Grounds last month.

Extreme Rules is taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here's the updated card for the pay-per-view:

  • The Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre
  • Universal Champion Seth Rollins & Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch defending against Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans in an extreme rules match (winners-take-all stipulation with both titles on the line)
  • WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defending against Samoa Joe
  • SmackDown Women's┬áChampion Bayley defending against Alexa Bliss
  • SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan & Rowan defending against Big E & Xavier Woods
  • WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak defending against Tony Nese
