WrestleMania Week: Ric Flair honored with bronze statue at WWE Axxess

WWE Hall-of-Famer and wrestling legend Ric Flair was commemorated Thursday evening with a bronze statue, the latest Hall of Famer to receive the honor.

The ceremony was held during the opening festivities of WrestleMania Axxess. Flair was surrounded by friends and family alike when the statue was unveiled.

Those in attendance included Ricky Steamboat, The Rock'n' Roll Express, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Arn Anderson, and Shawn Michaels. Flair’s family in attendance were Ashley (Charlotte), Megan and David Flair as well as Flair’s girlfriend Wendy Barlow, who is best known as former WCW valet Fifi the Maid.

In recent years, Axxess has featured tradition of unveiling a bronze statue of a WWE Hall of Famer. Andre the Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Ultimate Warrior and Dusty Rhodes have all been commemorated thus far.

The statues have all been designed by Karen Atta, a New York City-based sculptor.
