WWE SmackDown ratings down for third straight week

Tuesday's go-home show for Hell in a Cell saw SmackDown average 2.229 million viewers, down four percent from last week and marking the third straight week that SmackDown ratings have been down.

The show finished seventh for the night in total viewers on cable. In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown finished second, trailing The Mayans on FX, with a 0.72 rating.

SmackDown was down almost 20 percent year-over-year. The edition of the show that aired one year ago this week saw Vince McMahon make a rare appearance on SmackDown to confront Kevin Owens, who was in the middle of a program with Shane McMahon.

This was the 13th straight week that SmackDown has had a year-over-year drop and the 16th week in the last 17 that the show has been down from 2017.

SmackDown retained 82 percent of Raw's audience from the previous night.
