WWE SmackDown viewership down from last week

Though Raw had its best ratings in months this week, SmackDown viewership dropped six percent from last week's 2019 high-water mark, averaging 2.15 million viewers on Tuesday night.

The show faced tough sports competition, with Duke basketball on ESPN drawing 1.665 million viewers airing directly opposite SmackDown. An NBA game between the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics also broke 1.2 million viewers.

SmackDown finished ninth for the night in total viewers on cable but did top the 18-49 demo with a 0.76 rating, edging out second place Curse of Oak Island, which did a 0.75.

SmackDown's rating in the 18-49 demo was up slightly from last week's 0.75.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 20 percent, as has been the norm in recent weeks. SmackDown retained just 74 percent of the Raw audience, which likely means Monday's rating was greatly enhanced by the curiosity surrounding Roman Reigns' announcement.
