WWE 205 Live results: Akira Tozawa vs. Brian Kendrick no DQ match

A recap of Drew Gulak vs. Lio Rush from NXT showed Rush's Cruiserweight Championship win.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch defeated Tony Nese & Drew Gulak

Tom Phillips and Aiden English were on commentary and talked about how Gulak lost the title.

Nese landed a variety of kicks on both of his opponents before Gulak tagged in and worked over Lorcan with a headbutt. Burch came in and ran wild with a high kick and a corner lariat before Nese sent him into the ropes with a drop toe hold.

Gulak and Nese double teamed Burch, then Nese clubbered away at him before landing a big kick for two. Gulak tagged in for an elbow drop and a two count before an arm twist. Lorcan tagged in for a big uppercut on Gulak.

Lorcan hit a somersault senton off the top to the floor. He got a mild applause before running wild and DDTing Gulak. Lorcan then landed a half-and-half suplex on Nese to put him onto Gulak for two.

A German suplex by Burch led to a double-team powerbomb and a sloppy jackknife cradle for 2.5. Nese prevented a Doomsday Device before Gulak slammed Burch. Lorcan broke up the pin attempt with a diving headbutt.

Nese hit a 450 on Burch for two. Lorcan prevented a double suplex and the faces clubbed away with chops and punches. A chop/headbutt combo to Gulak then led to Lorcan and Burch hitting their double-team DDT for the win.

An Isaiah "Swerve" Scott hype video aired. The great thing about them focusing on the Swerve part of things is that since he used Shane "Swerve" Strickland before WWE, he could lose nothing if he ever left the company.

Gulak said that he isn't really disappointed by losing the Cruiserweight title because the division is the most competitive in the industry, Lio Rush stepped up and brought it to him big time, and he got caught -- but change endures, and he is still the law.

Rush said that he felt like a kid holding a WWE title. He has no issue giving Gulak a rematch.

Ariya Daivari came out and said he loves Las Vegas. He got no reaction until calling everyone trash to a mild reaction.

Ariya Daivari defeated Chris Bey

Bey looks like more of a star than most on this show -- he's got a great physique and bright blonde hair.

Daivari stomped a mudhole in Bey and then threw him to the floor. Bey got in a fantastic left hand -- and he throws a better punch than 90 percent of the roster. A uranage from Daivari led to him hitting the Rainmaker on Bey for the win.

WWE or AEW should sign Bey. He came off as a bigger star than Daivari here, and the little he did looked better than anything Daivari did.

Phillips and English congratulated The Lucha House party on getting drafted to SmackDown.

Brian Kendrick defeated Akira Tozawa in a no DQ match

Kendrick got a kendo stick and then Tozawa did the same before chairs got involved. Kendrick hit a DDT on a chair for two. He got some duct tape and taped Tozawa up to the ropes. Kendrick caned him and grabbed a stack of chairs from under the ring before setting up a double chair bridge.

Kendrick went for Sliced Bread on the chairs, but Tozawa threw him onto the pile awkwardly. Tozawa went under the ring for something and couldn't find it, so he went to the other side for his own pile of chairs to a sea of boos. They fought over a suplex on the pile and both ate it -- so that really helped no one.

Tozawa is so good that he got the crowd up when he went for a table, but Kendrick sent it into his face with a baseball slide. Kendrick then put the tip of the kendo stick into Tozawa's throat.

Tozawa landed a senton off the top onto Kendrick on a table on the floor ala their first street fight years ago on 205 Live. He went for a senton off the top to Kendrick on some chairs, but Mike Kanellis returned wearing jeans and a sleeveless hoodie and caned Tozawa. Kanellis hit a cane shot with chairs on Tozawa's stomach before laying him out with Cross Rhodes.

Kanellis dragged Kendrick to Tozawa so that he could cover him for the win. After the match, Kanellis and Kendrick shook hands, hugged, and Kanellis raised Kendrick's arm.
