WWE 205 Live results: Cedric Alexander's farewell

Tony Nese vs. Buddy Murphy from WrestleMania and their rematch on 205 Live last week were showcased to start the episode.

Nese said he's a fighting champion and will find his next foe. He said that we'll see who's ready to step up.

Cedric Alexander faces Oney Lorcan in Alexander's final match on 205 Live, and Drake Maverick thanked him for everything he's done on the show.

The Lucha House Party came out with Kalisto sliding on his knees -- please stop doing that, it's a recipe to damage the knees. Gran Metalik will take on Ariya Daivari, Mike Kanellis, and Akira Tozawa in a fatal four-way match.

Maverick said that anyone here could be given a Cruiserweight title shot against Nese. Nigel McGuinness asked why Brian Kendrick wasn't put in this, and Maverick said that perhaps Kendrick is sending Tozawa in his stead to better him.

Ariya Daivari defeated Gran Metalik, Mike Kanellis, and Akira Tozawa in a fatal four-way match

Kanellis ate a double dropkick by Metalik and Tozawa before they went at it in a fast-paced kicking exchange. Tozawa went for the suicide dive, but Daivari sent him down with a lariat. Metalik hit a stunning springboard dropkick to Daivari. The Iron Octopus was applied on Metalik, but it was broken up quickly.

Kanellis and Daivari worked over Metalik. Daivari and Kanellis teamed up for a double superkick to Tozawa, but Tozawa ducked and Daivari ate the kick. Tozawa ate a Michinoku driver for two.

A snap rana from Tozawa to Kanellis was followed by a shining wizard. The missile dropkick missed Kanellis, but he's a pro and sold it. Metalik hit a swanton onto Tozawa before Daivari hit the Persian Lion Splash for 2.5.

Metalik hit a run-up inside-out rana off the apron to the floor on Daivari, nailing Kanellis in the process before Tozawa landed a suicide dive onto him. Tozawa and Kanellis exchanged chops mid-ring and then exchanged big boots before Tozawa hit a German suplex.

Maria distracted Tozawa to prevent the senton and Mike still got knocked off. The senton was met with knees and Mike hit the Cross Rhodes, but Metalik elbowed Tozawa. Mike threw Metalik out of the ring, then Daivari threw Mike out. Daivari pinned Tozawa, stealing the win.

Lorcan said Alexander has been the anchor of 205 Live, but everything comes to an end. Alexander said going to Raw is a new opportunity -- it's a chance to build his legacy.

Alexander and Lorcan made their entrances, with McGuinness talking about Alexander's match with Kota Ibushi in the Cruiserweight Classic getting Alexander his contract with WWE.

Oney Lorcan defeated Cedric Alexander

Lorcan dominated Alexander quickly with a lot of mat work and stiff shots to the chest. Alexander landed his big dropkick and then hit another. Lorcan chopped the daylights out of him, but Alexander recovered. He went for a dive to the floor, but Lorcan shoved him into the barricade.

Lorcan threw Alexander into the corner hard and took him down with a lariat. Lorcan got a lot of bodylocks, but Alexander got him down in a seated position with a hesitation dropkick. Alexander hit a spinning back elbow and a jumping kick on the apron. A springboard flatliner got two for Alexander, then a giant Michinoku driver hit for two.

Alexander landed a big forearm and then a European uppercut, but the Neuralyzer kick was met with a big uppercut. Lorcan connected with a slick uppercut for two.

Lorcan wanted a half-and-half suplex, but he couldn't get it either grounded or up top. He got sent on the floor for the latter and Alexander hit a flip dive. They exchanged stiff chops on the apron before Alexander was sent in, where a giant lariat hit and then the half-and-half gave Lorcan the win.

Alexander and Lorcan showed respect to each other after the match. Alexander then got to end his run on 205 Live mid-ring to the cheers of the fans. This was one of the best pure wrestling matches on the show and felt like something more akin to an NJPW junior heavyweight division match than anything you'd see on WWE TV.
