WWE 205 Live results: Tag team street fight

Drake Maverick showcased a highlight video for Buddy Murphy vs. Cedric Alexander at TLC. He said that we'll hear from Murphy later and will see Lio Rush return after his loss to Alexander last month.

In this week's main event, Drew Gulak & Jack Gallagher face Brian Kendrick & Akira Tozawa in a street fight. Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph ran down tonight's card before Ariya Daivari and Hideo Itami came down.

Daivari demanded that the fans shut up and show Itami some respect. He told the world that Itami wants a challenge. Until he gets it, the show is canceled. Maverick entered and said they're just going to get suspended, but Noam Dar came down and wanted a match. Maverick said Itami and Daivari are lucky because this could've cost them their jobs, but thanks to Dar, he'll make Dar vs. Itami.

Hideo Itami defeated Noam Dar

Itami kicked Dar into the ropes and hit a diving leg drop over his neck for two. Dar recovered, but he then ate a charging knee to the stomach. Dar landed a Northern Lights suplex for two.

Dar charged into a big boot to the face, but he avoided a kick and went up top. A double stomp missed and Itami landed the KENTA combo before nailing the corner basement dropkick. A falling knee strike won it for Itami.

The commentators ran down a long video showcasing Murphy's win at TLC. Murphy met with Maverick, who apologized for the delay caused by Itami's nonsense. Murphy told Maverick he's tired of being disrespected. Maverick said Murphy's one of the best cruiserweights in the world -- and Murphy rightfully told him that as champion, he is the true best in this division.

Lio Rush came down to defeat a jobber and got a fairly mild reaction. Rush looked mockingly at his opponent, who to be fair, did look like he came from a wrestling game creation suite from 2006.

Rush landed a big bulldog off the apron to the floor and hit the Final Hour once. He opted to ground and pound his opponent instead of going for a pin. A second Final Hour won it, with this showcasing a bit more ferocity with Rush now that he's with Bobby Lashley.

Alexander cut a selfie promo about losing and letting the title slip between his grasp. McGuinness hyped up next week's best of 2018 205 Live episode.

Gulak & Gallagher entered to face Kendrick & Tozawa. Kendrick came out with a shaved face, blonde hair, and his 2008 jacket -- and he did look quite a bit younger than one might expect for someone nearing 40.

Brian Kendrick & Akira Tozawa defeated Drew Gulak & Jack Gallagher in a street fight

Kendrick and Tozawa started off strong -- with McGuinness pointing out how well they did as opponents in street fights a year ago. Kendrick and Tozawa grabbed a table. The heels knocked them down and put the table away, so the faces grabbed the announce table topper and smacked them with it. This all worked -- as a "we want tables" chant broke out. Instead of a table, Kendrick ate a shot on the back with a garbage can and a mop shot hit him in the face.

Gulak fishhooked Kendrick's jaw until Tozawa did it to Gulak. Gulak bonked Kendrick with a mic, but he got beaten up and another chant for tables broke out. Tozawa and Kendrick tied Gulak up to the post with a bungee cord. They chopped away before Gallagher made a save with a trash can.

Gallagher landed a big dropkick to Tozawa, but Kendrick hit an exploder on Gallagher -- sending him into Gulak on the chair. Kendrick was locked in a double submission until Tozawa hit a senton for a save and a two count.

Tozawa's suicide dive was met with a trash can by Gulak. Kendrick hit a super Sliced Bread off the top to Gallagher for the win.

This was more of a practical brawl than a traditional hardcore match. Everything they used was in the area and something you would logically try to use in a situation like this, resulting in a different kind of fast-paced all-action cruiserweight match.
