WWE NXT results: TakeOver fallout with matches taped in Toronto

The Big News: Samoa Joe will defend the NXT Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura on Saturday, December 3rd in Osaka, Japan.

The Medium News: SAnitY ruined Rich Swann's chance to pick up a win over Kona Reeves.

The Little Beaver-Sized News: Billie Kay and Peyton Royce walked out on their partner, Daria Berenato, in the main event, allowing Berenato to be pinned by Ember Moon in a six-woman tag.

This show was taped at the Air Canada Centre before TakeOver on Saturday.

Rich Swann and Kona Reeves went to a no contest

The number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship is here to do battle with Kona Reeves, who used to be both Noah Kekoa and Noah. Reeves smiles a lot despite being a heel and has this natural ability to make you dislike him.

This was a very basic match. Swann had it won with a standing 360 leg drop (instead of a standing 450 splash) when suddenly SAnitY's music hit and the four members walked slowly to the ring. The action in the ring stopped, as both wrestlers politely waited for them to make their full entrances.

Finally, because Swann and Reeves didn't see this happening, SAnitY laid them out with a four-on-two beat down. Swann got in a flying crossbody, but he quickly got beaten down further, culminating in Eric Young's wheelbarrow neckbreaker.

The fans chanted for Young, who took the mic and said he tried to do things the fans' way, but he got nothing. They are not going to ask for permission and get approval, they are just going to take.

No Way Jose came out to check on Swann after the break and challenged SAnitY to come back and take a beating from him tonight. He wanted Young specifically, so Young hit the ring, telling his compadres to stay at ringside.

Jose got the better of it, so Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe slid in for a three-on-one attack. Jose was still managing to fight them off until Nikki Cross hit a missile dropkick from behind. Jose got hit with a wheelbarrow neckbreaker as well as SAnitY stood tall.

We got a video package looking at the Authors of Pain vs. TM61 from Saturday before showing a Paul Ellering promo from after the match. Ellering said they unleashed a plethora of pain and proved it by winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. He finished by saying chapter three is yet to come.

"Last Saturday" Daria Berenato (of Tough Enough fame) was warming up backstage when Billie Kay and Peyton Royce interrupted her and asked her to be their partner tonight. Berenato was pissed at being interrupted, but agreed to be in the match. Makes you wonder why she was warming up if she didn't have a match.

We fast forwarded to real time where Kay and Royce said they were not mean people, they were really nice by letting Berenato team with the cool people.

They promoted the new WWE Films movie, Eliminators, being released on DVD on December 6th, starring Wade Barrett.

After a video package looking at Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger, we got a promo from Dillinger where he said he has worked for so long and for some reason cannot get the job done here in his hometown, disappointing his mother and his siblings who were sitting at ringside.

He wasn't sure what was next since this was supposed to be his moment. The only positive he got was that the crowd stood up and cheered for him despite coming up short. He finished by saying he will not come up short next time.

Next up was a video package looking at DIY vs. The Revival, followed by a promo by the new champions. They were very emotional regarding their win, stating that they are the best wrestlers in the world and this doesn't feel real, but they did it.

Asuka vs. Mickie James was the feature of the next video package. James did the post-match promo, saying it felt amazing to be out there but she's sad that it's over. She was also crying, overcome with emotion due to the experience. James said Asuka was amazing. She thought she had trained hard enough to beat her, but she hadn't trained hard enough.

We got a video package for the rest of the card, so why not the main event too? That was next, as we looked at Samoa Joe vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura just simply said he wanted a rematch as soon as possible.

Next week, from Ottawa (taped at SmackDown last night):

  • Samoa Joe returns
  • Eric Young vs. No Way Jose

Ember Moon, Aliyah & Liv Morgan defeated Daria Berenato, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

Aliyah is from Toronto, so she got a slightly larger pop than Liv Morgan, but nothing exceptional. Kay and Royce now both wrestle in more modern versions of the Fabulous Moolah one-piece swimsuit.

The heel trio got the heat on Aliyah. Berenato looked better here than the last time they did one of these six-woman tags. Moon got the hot tag and the fans were into seeing her beat up Royce. We did get a pier six brawl. Berenato got laid out during it, but Kay dragged her back to the corner to get the tag despite not being ready to get back in.

Kay and Royce walked off, leaving Berenato to get laid out by Moon's flipping stunner from the top rope.

We finish the show with breaking news. In two weeks, in Osaka, Japan, Shinsuke Nakamura gets his rematch and challenges Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship!

So with that bit of news, that does it for this week! Thank you all for reading, and until next week, remember to say your vitamins and take your prayers!
