Bryan Danielson praises Konosuke Takeshita after AEW Dynamite match

Bryan Danielson believes Konosuke Takeshita will eventually be considered one of the best wrestlers in the world.

Danielson and Takeshita wrestled each other for the first time on AEW Dynamite Wednesday night. In a video posted to AEW's Japanese Twitter account on Friday, Danielson spoke about his impressions of the 27-year-old from Osaka.

Danielson said:

Tonight I finally got the chance to wrestle Takeshita and I was really looking forward to it. I had heard a lot of people who had wrestled all over the world when they wrestled Takeshita they said, 'oh man, that guy's great' and I got to feel it.

There's one thing to watch somebody, and I watch him, and you see for how young he is, he's in his twenties, he looks so good, it looks like he hits so hard but I want to feel it. That's one of the things I love about wrestling, is feeling it out there.

When we got out there and he hit me with the first forearm, I felt it, I felt it, this guy is special.

I've been in the ring with some of the best wrestlers in the world, some of the best wrestlers of all time, and I think, by the end, we're going to be talking about Takeshita in the same way.

Takeshita was the "Performer of the Week" in Friday's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Prior to his match with Danielson on Dynamite, Takeshita made it to the finals of PWG BOLA after defeating Michael Oku, Komander, and Titus Alexander. He then lost to tournament winner Mike Bailey in a match that went 27 minutes and was awarded four and a half stars by our own Dave Meltzer.

Danielson is scheduled to face Bandido on next week's edition of AEW Dynamite. In storyline, he needs to win on Dynamite every week up until February 8 in order to receive a title match against MJF at Revolution.
